So cool! That's the most relaxing sound ever. Would have been perfect without the music in the background. That's just my prefrence. I perfer only sounds of the paper, no music or talking.
I used to fall asleep in school when the teacher would tell the class to "turn to page 565". Imaging, an entire classroom turning pages at the same time. Knocked me right out and no one knew what the problem was!!! Now I embrace it and don't have to take medicine to fall asleep, just listen to sounds like this. THANK YOU!
It's possible that we like these sounds because they are sounds of other persons doing very mundane actions, actions which would only be done in a safe secure setting. This makes us feel that there are others around who feel safe and relaxed, so we can, too. Just a thought. Either way, I use these as background sounds, behind online Chill music radio, to be productive in the office.
I have listened to track 4 "Renee" of Coffee & Cigarettes until my eyes nearly melted out of my head. She's turning the pages of magazines (oddly populated with guns & hunting tips) and stirring coffee in a ceramic mug. Heaven.
I felt ridiculous when I seached "turning over pages" here on Youtube - turns out I'm not the only one who loves that sound! I'm surprised!! ..and now.. relaxed..
You're sympathetic to lonely people, take criticism without getting angry, like cats, and don't think people are weird for being different. Sight unseen, if you ran for president next time around, I'd vote for you...seriously. You'd have to be miles ahead of all the usual suspects.
Does anybody know if you can play youtube videos on a loop? Always wanted to know that, and if I could just do it with this video all my sleep troubles would be over.
Wow, all these audio clips. There's a particular sound I've looked for and can't find, which I always loved when I was in college. When I used to study in the library, sometimes there's be somebody at the same table that might have mild allergies, and have these fairly frequent mild throat clearing sounds they make. They were just mild throat clearings, lasting a split second each usually, and weren't very loud at all. They were dry sounds (not wet sounding).
It's quite weird, now that I think about it, the sounds that I so thoroughly enjoy are the sounds that people TYPICALLY get quite annoyed, papers crumpling, typing sounds, pencils writing, people erasing.
Certain sounds are very pleasurable to me like the turning of pages for instance. One time I heard someone flipping through music cds at the library and I loved it. Some people's voices bring me pleasure like Pastor Harold Camping on Family Radio and the late Boss Ross. Sometimes hearing people chew potato chips or something crunchy gives me pleasure as well. I'm weird I know. :)
I think this sound is comforting to me because it brings me back to my childhood. You know, I would wake up on the weekends and walk downstairs and my parents would be reading the newspaper, I don't know it just made me feel happy, at ease, safe somehow.
I remember finding sounds like these relaxing since I was very small. It's odd, though - there is also a sense of guilt that goes with it. Almost shame. Even today I feel that. Like it's some sick secret. It's not that I think there is anything wrong with it. It goes deeper than that. I could never figure it out. Anyway, thanks for the vid. I love your channel.
@Yapshire No shame to be had. We all have our comfort foods and comfort sounds. These types of sounds release some sort of intoxicating chemical in me...who know why.
@Leviticus45 Indeed! and there are alot of "us" out here. We aren't weird or unique. We just enjoy certain sounds and they make us relax! Keep up the good work!
@Psilocybex I get that now. But still struggle with guilt-feelings about it. I think it stems from my inability to believe I deserve any type of comfort. I'm working on it, though.
@JordanRoberts24 True dat! I also always wanted to make a collection of all the great scenes from movies that have these sounds. Watching the motions as well as the sound affects me too. Wow. That sounded kind of dirty. Sorry.
@Spackliwackli Close, my major is "Insomnia". There are certain sounds that help me sleep, I hope to find certain sounds that help others sleep or relax. You wouldn't believe the interesting sounds people request to help them sleep.
@Leviticus45 oh I believe that! For instance, for some reason I find it relaxing to watch someone cooking something in a pan, you know, the sound of deepfrying chicken or putting garlic into hot oil. Sounds crazy, but it's sooooo relaxing ^^
Well, lately you've been some help...I fear I'm developing insomnia since if I don't listen to something or take Melatonin, then it takes me almost all night to get to sleep and I wake up early anyway.
lush and soothing - i used to love listening to the neighbour wash her car, she used a bucket to wet it and rinse it. the water hitting the floor and splashing, and her scrubbing the car made me feel the same way
It would be really appreciated if you could make a recording of you unloading and loading the dishwasher possibly...I really enjoy it when some people do that, although I don't like when people make loud noises and clang dishes around, I like it when they're doing it calmly and quietly...also gently...it kind of has a soothing sound to it...If you could do something like that, it would be greatly appreciated..and if you could do more turning the pages of a book or magazine gently and softly. :)
This may sound crazy, but can you make a video of you flipping through a magazine where you have difficulty turning the pages and you have to really rub your thumb and finger against the pages to get down to just one page. I love that sound!
The top of my head tingles, and my eyes gets heavier, and heavier. I have always been stimulated by certain sounds, such as these. For years i thought i was the only one who had those feelings, until i Googled, lol.
@abci23billionmillion Dates back to when I was a kid in gradeschool...droning teacher....some kid leafing through textbook out of boredom....me asleep.
@Leviticus45 really? I love how youtube can connect us "insomniacs" and talk about how we have the same weaknesses! Thats why i cant be in a library. People are flipping pages, im asleep, snoring loud as can be, next thing you know, i get kicked out. haha
@LogicLyfe You are definitely not alone! The toughest part about being an insomniac is finding the right combination of sounds to put you in the hypnotic zone. I am happy this audio relaxed you.
@LogicLyfe Not at all. If you hadn't made it into an mp3, I would have sent it to you as an mp3. Insomniacs must stick together. We are the brotherhood of sleeplessness.

omg i can't believe i've found other people that experience the same as me when it comes to turning pages...i thought i was strange or something
it's wierd because i produce music ( drum n bass ) which is really loud
but every night i watch this video i found on youtube of a guy flicking through a book
it sends me into a complete trance ..i've had this as long as i can remember
could you do a video of naturally flicking through the paper with the pauses inbetween :)
