but I saw this at scandia (some arcade place), and they had it on the GH3 there, so I was all excited to play it. ("yay Steve Vai!") AND I FAILED. T.T

It shows that just because you can play guitar doesn't mean that you can play guitar hero and vice versa.

Both take equal skill...it depends on the skill level and the construction of the person's brain. I played guitar hero first, was on medium, a few months later I got my first guitar. Now, 2 years later I'm still playing both and give both an equal amount of practice. I can 97%~100% almost every guitar hero song from GH3 and up on expert as well as play fully songs from A7X, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Slayer on my electric guitar. They both take a different set of skills.

Really? I suppose if you're already a virtuoso guitarist, then doing it on guitar hero would be more difficult. However, give a raw beginner - at both activities - a guitar and a gutiar hero game and have them pratice both an equal amout of time. I'd love to compare the difference. As a professional guitarist [Berklee grad] and teacher, I can guarantee you that doing it on guitar is an order of magnitude more difficult.
