  • love the Girl dupes great idea works a treat so funny, thats what glam was all about back then a lot of fun and great rockin music, aww those were the days.

  • how can you not tap your feet to this. Yeah they were fun times. Not the (falsely) miserable one hit wonders we've got now. I can't tell one bloody artist from another mainly because they're songs are all written by the same teams

  • Although I've seen (the proper) Slade 10 times, I would love to see one more gig with the original four back together. They never went out with the bang they deserved!

  • Wow... the bottom end... of both sublime Slade guitar crunch AND... 70s pop show dancers... is everything a man could ever need :-)

  • ...and they're playing it for real.... :o)

  • Would"nt mind having a few of them birds bak "ome.!!!

  • Finally: a conversation that makes sense!

  • PRIDE OF THE BLACK COUNTRY !!!

  • @summersavannah01 So Fuckin right anyone from black country west mids UK would know these guys and anyone from the heart of the black country should love these guys :) wish i was around when these gusy were in there prime. SLADE ROCK ON!!!!!

  • when l first heard this,,,,, l thought wow this has got to be the best rock song ever made, cos i luv you, look wot you dun,,well l thought that was going to be their best stuff,,,little did l know,,,changed my life forever,,noddy jim dave don,,what a combination,,,the nearest would have to be john paul george ringo,,in my humble opinion,,,

  • Perfect !

  • Mom would load a picnic hamper full of sarmies, boerries, biltong and boiled eggs and look for that tin of sunburn spray that smelt like burnt plastic. Pa would dig out the parasols and beach kit from the garage and we'd pile the whole shebang into our Ford Zephyr and head for the beach, stopping en route for a bucket of Kentucky. We'd park, and Dad would pop the boot open and blast Slade through the car speakers loud enough to be heard atop Table Mountain. My kingdom for a time machine...

  • @hnorky If you get one, pick me up on the way please. Sounds great.

    One question: what's biltong?

    Long live The Mighty Slade!!

  • @bigmagic96 bilton is a dried meat snack, similar to jerky, that's popular in South Africa.

  • @hnorky sounds fantastic. great comment bro

  • grew up with slade the dogs bollocks

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That Dave guy is mentally ill.

  • great a right belting tune...love it...

  • ben nu 52 en ben al fan van slade sinds ik 13 was

  • Slade at their best! Perhaps no other band had such a good time as they cranked out their songs. Noddy and company are legends.

  • The epitome of 70's music... thanks SLADE... and all bands similar... But esspecially to SLADE YOu GUYS ROCK!! ILY!!! xoxox

  • - Thank you Slade! Thank you, thank you...

  • super

  • play this through a marshall 100 watt amp with 4 speaker combo full volume

brilliant ,gives the neighbours heart attacks but you will have fun lol

  • God I luv that girls jacket and yep this is the best slade song ever

  • Thanks for posting this. This was the first ime I ever saw Slade - on the blooing 2 G's and The Pop People Show! But I've followed them ever since!

  • First song to make the charts in the USA Made it to #97. I was one of the very few here to embrace Slade early on. And I still luv em!

  • I was fourteen years old and living in Belize when this came out, and I lived for the weekly broadcast of Top of The Pops when this song was a top ten hit. Are they doing the Freddy towards the end?

  • all my cassettes were stolen in 1988 with it the full collection of slade they were my favorite group during school years due to intenet re found how great they were and rebuying all the cds i can find wot a great sound and can not belive i forgot how good they were

  • This is one of the great vids, congratulations to whoever brought this to our screens. Suits Slade down to the ground.

Loved Slade since 1971-long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • been there since they burst on to the scene in 71,the best rock band to come out of the black country; by miles, they had it all,

  • Now why aren't these guys in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame? You can see clearly the influence they had had on Kiss and every glam/metal band of the 80's, of course Slade are better than all of them. Extraordinary band.

  • @MottTheWot obviously mott, the rock n roll hall of fame isnt all its cracked up to be, if the so called r r h o f was anything of remote talent as one would expect, then bands like slade, badfinger and sweet etc would be in the top half atleast,,,,wouldnt you say.?

  • The problem with the R&R Hall Of Fame is it is very US centric, Slade were never big there, neither was Bolan, yet the influence of both Slade and T.Rex has been heard for the past 35 years.

Slade were the forerunners of US Glam metal of the 80's, no Slade no Motley Crue etc, i'd go as far to say that without Slade,T.Rex & Sweet you have no Kiss. Bands since the 90's have been trying to capture the T.Rex sound, Oasis, Muse, Dandy Warhols. Don't expect Slade or T.Rex to be inducted soon, sadly.

  • @MottTheWot

KISS would probably agree with you, they were big Slade fans. Gene Simmons even said that "Slade was certainly our biggest influence." Just take a listen to "Rock'n'Roll All Night", that's a Slade song if ever there was one! Maybe Slade should have put on some makeup, eh?

  • @MottTheWot Not a problem thought Mott. Why group Slade with lesser bands? Slade were far and away the greatest to ever get up and play. They will never be bettered. Youtube has a lot of the evidence.

    Regards BM

Long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • @bigmagic96 Keep On Rockin there BM, I saw Slade at their peak. One of the greatest live bands of all time. Who can really account for the poor taste of American audiences during the 70's? Maybe they just didn't want another British Invasion? For some bizarre reason Quiet Riot had big hits with far inferior versions of Slade songs in the 80's. Go figure?

  • Go Wolves!

  • noddys got the same trousers on in every vid,..lol...them rupert the bear 60's loon's,...!!!

  • would love to see them do that live just one more time...

  • Lea posing, .....??? Check out who wrote the songs. Holder/Lea. Nuff said.

  • wonder how many times they did a new recording for the shows? and then live vocals.. this is different yes??

  • Slade could hav survived with Noddy Holder and Don Powell only. They made the music- Lea was merely posing, and Dave Hill.... whatever. All Hats off to Slade!

  • don was a fuckin great song writer! wish he dun more!!!!

  • Nutters! love 'em 4ever

  • My favourite Slade track ever !

  • From Wolverhampton?

  • Just look at this dancing!..

  • Best Slade song, rarely played.Saw them at Victoria Hall Hanley 1972 supported by little known (then)Suzi Quattro and Thin Lizzy awesome gig.

  • @grinchy13 Extremely jealous but happy you got to see them in their absolute prime.

    Regards, BM

Long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • What a Great Video Clip and Great Song.

  • Super Yob!

  • En gaan !!!@!@!!

  • fantastic as always! cheers!

  • only 14000 hits yet cum on feel the noize gets 844000 hits! People have no taste.

  • @samothraki1

Nah! Cum On is the songthat gets people to listen to SLADE.

When they hear Take Me Bak Ome, and Gudbye Gudbye, they hear Slade man!

It's all cool.Don't freak ouit because other people don't have taste ...

    Thery can't help it :0).

  • epicly awesome song

  • This old sod is 62 and believe me these were the good music sounds of my younger days. Our kids love the sound aged from 15-12-8 years old Thailand rocks to Slade well it does in our house,

  • The best Slade song ever. Can't understand why it's never played.

  • I agree. Whenever someone mentions a Slade song its rarely this one!

  • yeah totally agree- classic- my first record i ever had on vinyl

  • @Bertie22222 agreed, but then their catalogue is replete with little known tunes. The most anybody plays now ia Cum on feel the noize, or their little known Christmas anthem lol :p

  • @Bertie22222 got to be the greatest rock intro of the 70s, along with the greatest rock vocalist of the millenium,,

  • Comment removed

  • Noel Gallagher ripped the intro riff for Cigarettes and Alcohol

  • figures.

  • No surprise there then!

  • ROCK ON!

Blows all the Schmocks of today´s Charts out of the WATER!!!

    :)

  • I read that when they were making this vid, Dave wouldt go with the routine and would try to throw his dancing girl off lol

  • best band in the World ever. and this record rocks like no other

  • At their peak, these lads could blast any other band on the planet off the stage and into orbit !! I saw them live, in central Glasgow in November 1972 and the memory lives on of a fantastic evening . This brilliant video showcases my fave track - ta very much for sharing it - Cheers !!

  • My favourite Slade song. One of the best songs of the decade.

  • Tanx to Slade fans who paid tribute to Marc Bolan on 16/09/2007 Queens Ride

  • GREAT !!!! very best slade single

  • I was a big slade fan in the 70s and in retrospect suggest that this is the pinicle... very little of what slade did, as good as some of it was, comes close to this and the stuff they did before this.. nevertheless I have been lucky enough to see slade 5 times live at various times in the bands career...live at any time...the best

  • 70's Vinyl rock era = the best.

  • The best year ever for rock and pop!!

  • i love this song, great video too, Slade are the best...cheers.

  • Noddy's voice was fantastic. Long before the immitators :that guy from ACDC and Axl Rose.

  • All right!!! Slade exactly hits the spirits of the 70's!

Punk and Disco didn't as well. No more to say...

  • the best vid on youtube.

    best band.

    best era for music.

and man oh man them chicks.

i married someone who looked like she noddy.

unfortunately she has not missed many meals.

a time machine if you please.

  • that is too funny mate, too much like reality. Cheers!

  • @nazareth4372

Got to agree mate. Funny comments, made me laugh. Oh, for a time machine so we could do it all over again.

Long live The Mighty Slade !!

(Liked Nazareth too, good rockers. Cracking show at the Bham Odeon early 80s).

  • I like the "she-Don" in the Gold Lame suit.... The bird can dance! Betcha it was Dave that shagged all the gals!

  • Fine Video, but the sound quality is awful.

  • what do you expect for 1972?

  • Their best ever, great year '72.

  • Nod probably shagged them all

  • Me too! I wonder who she is and what she looks like now? The She-Dave is very "literal", isn't she?

  • I'm pretty sure she went on to Pan's people and then into choreography. She was the choreographer for a GM show in Barcelona in 92 where I got to dance with her briefly. She was still the one the caught the guys' attention despite a troop of younger dancers to drool over. Could be wrong but I think she's the one.

  • i can understand why she did so well my brother.

she unlike the other dancers was right into this track and danced for the sheer pleasure of it.

brilliant track by the best live band.

  • I fancy the She-Noddy!
