I was stationed at Keesler AFB when this hurricane occurred. It moved toward Biloxi, MS & we prepared for it. It then verred East & sat off the coast of Florida, at Cedar Keys, FL for an eternity (I think a week), then strangely moved back West and the eye hit shore at Ocean Springs, MS at about 7:00 a.m. Sept. 2, 1985. We went without power for 5 days and water for the same. Tore Biloxi up pretty bad.
The news kept saying it would hit Florida and I kept telling my mom that they were wrong ! I just knew it was coming to us ! (I am from Gulfport)
