@ExBrutalion First of all its Fairy TAIL (not tale) and second of all, people do read them for the stroy, it's jsut interesting to pit people from different anime/mangas against eachother to see who would win. They mostly just do it as an indirect way of saying "my series is better than yours."

Oh I do love Fairy Tail...but I feel like its a bit too obvious that its based on One Piece. I mean, it make sense since Fairy Tail creator was Oda student but everytime a new character in Fairy Tail come out I cant help thinking (oh yeah, this guy has exactly the same personnality as that guy in One Piece) and everytime they try to have a moral or a message its one that was already used in One Piece before. That being said, the fights and the universe in fairy tail are really awesome.
@giantWario This may be my inexperience with the series talking, but I had most problems with the names, morality and themes being too.... obvious and one-sided I suppose. I mean, "Phanton Lord", really? The closest thing to that in One Piece department is probably Blackbeard, and that's after a few hundred chapters, in most of them Blackbeard just looking like just another side character with no clear motivations or evil intent
Different anime have their own genre, if you wan to compare onepiece, compare it with another pirate-adventure anime. Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, these are the top 4 leading anime in their unique genre. I would rather put it as they are all No.1 ~

Fairy Tail has been bland from the beginning. Every arc you got asspulls, random powerups and more of that stuff around every corner.

OP have it all, in this anime u can see action, adventure, comedy, death, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction and u can even see a bit of documentary (Namys teach us about weather ;P) some erotic scenes (Brooke: Can u show me ur panties?) faction genre (black beard: a real pirate). And i can say that OP battles are much more excitement than many animes. is top sale in man/anim.

@058875915 Both of their influences are Dragon Ball. Mashima has already stated he isn't influenced by Oda. Although it's possible he tried to learn drawing through OP. I'll give Mashima one thing though, he draws damn fast without losing quality.
Hancock has alot of fanservice yes but that gets nowhere near FTs amount of fanservice. I don't care either that you like them, but you say it's good wich is a completely other statement. Because you like something doesn't make it automatically good.

And Hancock hasn't really fought yet. Except for a few kicks here and there in the war. Her point was mainly to make Luffy get to Impel Down and something else you probably haven't seen yet.

I could never get into one Piece. Its art style was something i greatly dislike. Can someone tell me why it is so loved, and what your reactions are to its latest Arc. Has it slowed, lost interest dragged on etc. I want to give this show a chance but I lose interest in it so fast.

@D01287410 I didn't like OP at first either, it does start off slow but I forced myself to watch it and only after like the 14th arc (Alabasta) I found myself loving it and now it is my #1 favorite anime. The character development and the plot are really amazing and the latest arc imo is one of the best.

Oh I do love Fairy Tail...but I feel like its a bit too obvious that its based on One Piece. I mean, it make sense since Fairy Tail creator was Oda student but everytime a new character in Fairy Tail come out I cant help thinking (oh yeah, this guy has exactly the same personnality as that guy in One Piece) and everytime they try to have a moral or a message its one that was already used in One Piece before. That being said, the fights and the universe in fairy tail are really awesome.

@giantWario This may be my inexperience with the series talking, but I had most problems with the names, morality and themes being too.... obvious and one-sided I suppose. I mean, "Phanton Lord", really? The closest thing to that in One Piece department is probably Blackbeard, and that's after a few hundred chapters, in most of them Blackbeard just looking like just another side character with no clear motivations or evil intent

Different anime have their own genre, if you wan to compare onepiece, compare it with another pirate-adventure anime. Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, these are the top 4 leading anime in their unique genre. I would rather put it as they are all No.1 ~

Fairy Tail has been bland from the beginning. Every arc you got asspulls, random powerups and more of that stuff around every corner.

OP have it all, in this anime u can see action, adventure, comedy, death, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance, science fiction and u can even see a bit of documentary (Namys teach us about weather ;P) some erotic scenes (Brooke: Can u show me ur panties?) faction genre (black beard: a real pirate). And i can say that OP battles are much more excitement than many animes. is top sale in man/anim.

@058875915 Both of their influences are Dragon Ball. Mashima has already stated he isn't influenced by Oda. Although it's possible he tried to learn drawing through OP. I'll give Mashima one thing though, he draws damn fast without losing quality.
Hancock has alot of fanservice yes but that gets nowhere near FTs amount of fanservice. I don't care either that you like them, but you say it's good wich is a completely other statement. Because you like something doesn't make it automatically good.

And Hancock hasn't really fought yet. Except for a few kicks here and there in the war. Her point was mainly to make Luffy get to Impel Down and something else you probably haven't seen yet.

The character development and the plot are really amazing and the latest arc imo is one of the best.
