  • I just recently started with weightlifting. Iam expriencing the problem he talks about when you have to big arms. Ive been traning powerlifting and bodybuilding. and my arms are close to 21 inches.

When I pull from the floor I have serious problems getting the bar to land on my shoulders. I cant get my forearms down enough to the shoulders and the bar lands inside my hand. My wrist dont hurt so much but the pain inside my hand is hard to handle. Frustrating as hell..is stretching the answer?

  • 9:10 abd here is what Americans High-schools do ... lol . Good vid man

  • Love this guy! Such a good explanation. Clear and concise. Hes a very good lifter.

  • Beautiful technique! Thanks for the vid.

  • this guy is good

  • Yes. Pure Gold.

  • GOLD. Thanks for uploading

  • listen to his explanation about why he is sticking to teaching the power variants (as opposed to the full lifts).....

  • I know youre not telling this guy how to do it.. Look this guy up he's pound for pound one fo the strongest in the world.

  • very good

  • Brilliant demo. It's about logic, leverage, kinesthetics and then: will to succeed. Only anabolics will put you beyond that if you got the need to compete with others. I say compete with yourself and the weight. Perfect yourself. The weight is the measure of your work for yourself. Why work for anyone but yourself?

  • @mtncur

Why work for anyone but yourself?

    thumbs up + +

  • I'm curious what type of shoes he is wearing.

  • Taping shoes ;-)

    I assume regular powerlifting shoes.

  • you mean regular weightlifting shoes that powerlifters use also?

  • powerlifting shoes and weightlifting shoes are different. the weightlifting have like 1.25 inch wood heel, or normally wood. The powerlifting is like, ankle support really

  • excellent video.

very clear and very focused on the potential dangers and proper techniques.

    Congratulation.

    Keep going

  • Gr8 vid. You know when the bar goes up 2 the waiste/mid section it looks like lifters push their waiste/mid section into the bar 2 help propel it up. Is that the case; i've tried doing it and it seems v.hard at a heavy weight?

  • yes, many lifters doing the snatch, the bar actually makes contact with the body, thats actually how close the bar is when they say keep the bar close to the body, its hard at a heavy weight but when you have massive pulling power from your shoulders from doing pulls, its not a problem at all

  • THANKS VERY MUCH

  • yea but they don't purposely try to hump the bar, the hump looking motion is a result of the explosive jump you do right before the shrug.

  • thanks

  • What is his name, he is a great teacher.

  • this is a great vid. i've seen many pull videos but they don't go into as much detail as he does. thanks for posting it

  • Nice video!

  • I like that he shows the correct way and the wrong way. Most coaches just show the correct way.

  • good stuff, check out coach burgener as well for oly lifts

  • Wow he's fast!

  • people usually to think that. but in actuality the knee has to be lower than the butt which has to be lower than the shoulder.

  • thx for the great tips, you should post more how-to vids for other excercises

  • thanks for video

  • he is so quite? turned to the max and can barely hear the man.
