Right on writers! Dr King was shot while supporting striking garbage workers in Memphis Tenn. Writers earn more. Garbage collectors, janitors, studio comissary workers earn less. Nevertheless, union janitors, hotel and commissary workers all support the WGA. IATSE needs to come around. Why? Because we all work for the same greedy companies. And you better believe that if they screw the WGA today, they'll be coming after us all tomarrow. When the WGA succeeds, so do we all. Hang tough writers.

The "Hollywood Reporter" quoted Thomas Short, President of IATSE (union of stage hands & motion pic techs, etc.) as saying,"I don't believe the WGA ever intended to bargain in good faith. They are destroying a lot of lives in the process. As a result of their irresponsible and irrational behavior, the number of IA members who have lost work is approaching 40,000 people."
Here here! Every time Thomas Short opens his mouth he makes an ass of himself. He waited about a week to start slagging off the WGA. What a tool. The IATSE should dump him as fast as possible.
Sarah Silverman is my hero, it was nice to see her picketing in this video. Its great that the WGA has the support of the SAG, hopefully this will all end soon. sadly, I've been saying that for months...

This video is a disgrace the the great Dr. King. He fought for a race that was being killed, beaten and treated like dogs. The WGA is just greedy looking for residuals. To say that the 2 are in the same ballpark is a shameful. Is the sick WGA next going to compare themselves to the holocoust?

NO Madscout, you are actually wrong this time. A strike is only a form of social upheaval if it is fighting for basic core things such as working conditions, child labor--NOT profits. Writers were just fine before this strike, they just want more money. Black people during Dr. King's time were being hung from trees. You people are sick to think they are the same. Shame on you!
I'm the guy they sent out to film the event, and they asked me to ask people what Dr. King would have thought of it all. I agree that there is no comparison between the writer's strike and the disgusting racial injustices of the past, and did not even want to ask the question, but it was pointed out to me that Dr. King was a great champion of labor rights, and the notion of fighting for the little guy.
I was very grateful for the uniform feelings of solidarity across racial lines, and I think that shows that we have come a long way, thanks to the bravery and courage of Dr. King and his adherents. You may be somewhat misinformed about the level of inequity the writers are facing, but your point is well-taken.
That's awesome! Sarah's interview was so much more funny then the rest of the other people. But she made it funny and at the same time, she was fighting for a cause. :)

Yeah, well, Thomas Short is a thug straight out of 'On the Waterfront'. He'll gladly sell out his fellow union members to line his own pocket.

The Latino Chicano community is under represented.
The Latino Chicanos will do the jobs writers wont do.
Now you know what construction workers are dealing with.

Kihel,
Hey there,

I didn't say that, moron. Sharing profits fairly is a fair thing.

Please. If this was a strike of manufacturers you'd be complaining about them being overpaid and lazy.
You're just anti-union and anti-working man.
