  • What is the material that you used as the plate that everything is mounted to? Looks very nice, I am currently building my own and wanted to get some of that material to neaten everything up a bit. Great job, looks very professional!

  • that looks professional mate. quite jealous now :(

  • That........is amazing! Top job!

  • Please kindly respond.

I would like to fly up to 20kms from base and pull pranks by dropping rotten eggs :) and things on people at a Newcastle or Sydney beach. This is what i have so far: Aurora 9, Flightpower Evo25, Turnigy Accucell 6, Multi-Remote Receiver operated on/off Switch, T-rex 450. I figure i'll need to ditch the 450 for a Gaui? And gonna need this gear right: Scherrer UHF Long Range System, FPV gear at hobbywireless (not sure on best freq 2 use with Aurora 9). NO GLIDER...

  • @MrGRANDIMPERIAL Hi!. firstly, for 20km (or even a quarter of that) you need a fixxed wing aircraft, helis and quads etc simply cannot carry the battery capacity for long flights, let alone cargo or equipment. as unlike planes, they cant glide unpowered, or low power, also, glitches happen at long distance, even a momentary loss can make a copter plummet like a stone, planes can recover, im not sure what frequencies are legal in Aus, but im pretty sure your legal to use 2.4ghz to 500mw.

  • How many mah is your battery and how long does this setup works before you have to charge the battery?

  • @martijnjes Hi Martin, im using a single 5000 mah 3S 11.1V LiPo on the groundstation.

A fully charged LiPo is about 12,6V

Im easily getting 2+ hours out of it before the voltage drops to around 11V

  • great job dude!!! Im currently building mine (almost done) but its definitelly not as sophisticated as yours! Thanks for sharing it !

  • Nicely built.

    Regards Liam

  • Must have hit send there by accident lol...I finally got a PA speaker stand which will support 25-kg no problem and I can adjust it to eye level, one thing you will need to fit is a good cover over the monitor, even on a cloudy overcast day it's hard to see a monitor outdoors.....good luck.

  • Love it, well done a lot of thought went into the build. Are you mounting it in any way? I built mine with a 22" monitor but found it a problem if left on the ground, I needed a strong tripod capable of supporting 15-20kg and after searching eBay for camera mounts which were ridiculous price I finally got

  • WOW. Beautifully done Brother.

I am very new in FPV. I had order an osd from RV. but it had some problems so i have to send it back for repair. I hope that it comes back soon, so that i can get it going. There are so many things that i would like to do. A Ground Station with Antenne Tracker is one of them definetlly on the list. GOOD LUCK, and thank you for this Video Brother...:-)

  • where did u pick up some of the supplies? The switches, voltmeter and carbon fiber board. Great setup, I wish I could build something like that.

  • @sshukri0 some parts from a company called OnVon.

But the vast majority of the build (including the parts you asked about) came from E-Bay.

The board is 5mm Acrylic, not carbon fibre.

  • @TerrorTrooperM

Do you ever or wish to build one of these base stations for third parties?

  • @TheMrJJ100 I wish i could, would really enjoy it.

However, for me to individually build another like mine, the labour cost involved would make it not worth buying as it did take me some time..

If i was to have certain trickier elements pre-fabricated, (say electrical on a PCB, facias pre-cut to order)

there isnt enough market for such groundstations for me to buy a sufficient quantity to get those services at a reasonable enough cost.

Finally, would cost me a fortune to post.

  • Are the USB ports connected directly to the Screen? Nice suitcase so you can carry that all with you in one bag!

  • @Druppi92 one is, the other is purely a filtered 5v suply for charging purposes.

It is quite nifty!! am proud of it. Saves me risking damaging any equipment if i was transporting a tripod setup.

just wish i could have found a slightly deeper case.

  • @Druppi92 one is, the other is just a filtered 5V supply for the goggles.

  • Very small display

  • @MrPendeka The display is more about showing others...

i will be using Video Goggles.

  • Mate thats awesome :)

  • @kieranbolton Thanks Kieran. =) Hopefully soon have some vids of it running, and footage from the Traxxas Summit that its going to Pilot.
