@styruphoum its a 555 integrated circuit, many synths can be designed with them, google atari punk console for a very simple one

Nice one. I've built a few noisy bits like this. Try building a diy fuzz circuit (my favourite tends to be based around an LM386) and include that in there. The apc sounds great through one.
