i work at the six flags in san antonio we have a similar ride called the scream. its such a sad accident but it wasnt the ride operator's fault even if the cable did snap it was alredy when the ride was in motion so if he/she was to e-stop the ride it would stop and u would been stuck at the top and its not the ride operator is superman and can fly up there and catch the cables for them not to hit anyone damm ignorant people

that ride used to be here in houston at 6 flags astroworld. I pretty much lived there, and the cars are supposed to drop all at once, so you can definately tell it's malfunctioning bc their dropping the cars one by one... scary.

When the ride was going they heard a snap and wires started falling on them. they yelled for them to stop the ride, but they couldnt stop it. so when it was going down the two wires wrapped around her leg and cut them off. one flew somewhere the other on the floor.

However, don't be afraid of riding them. Statistically speaking, your chances of being injured on a roller coaster or thrill ride are much lower than being killed in a car.

never once does it say in the title or description that this is when her feet were cut off. all it says is that it is the ride where she got her feet cut off. not the actual occurance. thanks for your time. however you do not know what youre talking about.

You are confusing this with a ride with the exact same name at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington (between Dallas and Fort Worth).. They are both named Superman Tower of Power.

that ride used to be here in houston at 6 flags astroworld. I pretty much lived there, and the cars are supposed to drop all at once, so you can definately tell it's malfunctioning bc their dropping the cars one by one... scary.

daretodream1988: I've been on this ride 13 times, and I've watched it countless times, and the cars always drop at different times. When this used to be at Astroworld, they all dropped together, but when it was relocated to Six Flags St. Louis, they mixed it up so that the cars drop in the order that they are numbered (there are 6 cars).
And, btw, the girl lost her feet at a different park. It was the same type of ride with the same name, but it happened at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.

Okay everyone stop acting like you know the story.
She went with her two friends.
They had gone on the ride before so they went on it again because there was no line. A lady asked if they can trade seats with her, so kaitlyn did. When the ride was going they heard a snap and wires started falling on them. they yelled for them to stop the ride, but they couldnt stop it. so when it was going down the two wires wrapped around her leg and cut them off. one flew somewhere the other on the floor.

yeah. I ride the one in texas.. but they said it's not the same type of ride. The one here is like hydrolic or something. I It's lifted by cables but i don't think the cables run the whole ride.
I almost lost it when I heard about this.. I rode the one in Texas so many times and it was by far one of the most fun rides ever. But now.. i don't want to ride them ever again.

And yes, the cables are set up in a way like they are on this ride. The same thing can happen on that ride. The cables are exposed.
However, don't be afraid of riding them. Statistically speaking, your chances of being injured on a roller coaster or thrill ride are much lower than being killed in a car.
