When the city divulged their insurance information, they sent an elderly lady to "assess the situation". She scarcely crawled into the crawl space with her cellphone to snap pictures appr' 25-30'away
The contaminated area was actually at the upper end of my home between two foundation sections, one being an old back porch with only 16 inches of clearance.
One must crawl on his belly to get over a hump in order to access the wet soil.
In the end, she merely mimicked the claim of the director.
These city directoral governments have more power than State officials when it comes to public utilities, and all they have to do is deny, lie, and procrastinate in the course of these events. DHEC allows them full immunity from rules UNLESS they fill out a self-policing complaint against their own interests.
Homeowners are ignmored and stifled by state agaencies when it comes to their foul-ups and they buddy up to the perpetrators, a.k.a. public utilities companies.
This is the result of a public utilities failure to comply with DHEC rules after requesting soil tests and confirmation of spillage and seepage in my yard and under my home. After the manhole in my yard was left with a crushed exiting line during the month of August, the utility company tried to deny it's occurrence, and a local DHEC manager's office withheld an important photo from their own inspector.
Some things you just don't do to people in a civilized world, and this is one of them!
