@JackpotDen I kept the minimum x/y distances (preserving sign) from the origin as I iterated. For the circular bulbs, there's a fairly well behaved region in the centre that will map pretty well to an area around the origin. I needed to scale it up it over time to keep up with the zoom because the magnitudes get smaller as the bulbs get smaller.
