What a great piece of history. I only knew Gail by name because I was with the Sunnyvale High School Marching Band 79-80. I knew guys in the Vanguard like Marc Lawrence, David Hyman, George Brown and quite a few others. The names escape me, it's been quite a few years... But they encouraged me to try out but unfortunately we moved to Texas teh next year. (Oh, and for you history buffs--I am one of the guys who stole the Blue Devils banner at that show in San Jose Spartan Stadium.) Ruben Avila
