This was from 1978. I like how he waves happily having just selfishly burned his pursuers to death when launching his rocket, at the end of the beginning credits.
oh my god i used to watch this when i was 5 or 6 year ld and now im 27 ... i like the once upon a time -MAN is the best u learn alot of thing . but the ending is sad
You can see Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in the same frame. Neptune was discovered in the 19th century by Urbain Le Verrier, but Voyager II took close-up pics of Neptune in 1989. This series was produced in 1981. So it was not possible to really know how Neptune looked like then.
The Procidis site only has links to national retailers that have it. The one in Switzerland has a version with English (as well as French). It's region encoded for Europe - you have to break that to use it in North America.
The Canada Amazon has a version for North America, but it's French only.
I should have guessed it... Who else could have written such a moving theme than Michel Legrand? Thank you for uploading, I felt like achild again :) :)

Seeing this does bring my childhood memories. When it was first broadcast in the UK in 1982 or 1983.

If i remember this show , it was basically "Star Trek" in animated form with words like "Federation" being commonplace
