I must admit that I loved this game, and it's one of my best Wii games, and even if it can't compare to the first one (I played both), it's still a pretty good game, the gameplay was friendlier to those who played Co-op (in the first one, going physical on 1 enemy w/ 2 characters was almost impossible and only P1 could see what was going on).

Still, the first one had a better story, was harder and longer.

I love Tales of Symphonia 1 and 2. My only complaint about Dawn of The New World is that there was no long traveling full of side quests like the first. Like if you have both games 100% completed, the first one has like two or three hours more of side quests and missions.

I totally agree with you. It was like with Metal Gear Solid 2 where INSTEAD of controling Solid Snake like in the first one, you control a whiny pretty boy Raiden. You also had to listen to him complain to his girlfriend Rose all throughout the game. Heh, Raiden and Rose are exactly the same as Emil and Marta.

Totally wrong here. I have done a LOT of tales of and rpg since many, many years, and I still like ToS 2 more than ToS 1 by far. Especially, among a lot of other things, because of some things you are saying, characters. Like Emil being sensitive and not a cliche of the stupid hero, like Lloyd.

i have this game on my wii and i love it and its awesome, i beat it like almost a yr ago, i couldnt put the game down imo some of the bosses fights are ridiculously hard if u dont got the right equips wit u, sometimes it feels like they keep u alive after a mystic arte wit just 1 hp left just to taunt u xD anyways sometimes i got lucky wit my skillz at maximum and was able to beat some bosses like richter and loverboy(the 1st playthrough) almost killed me but i won, also the JP OP is epic too!

I'm assuming the building at the start of the intro is the place Lloyd and Colette first go to when they start the journey of Regenaration? If thats what it is, then why is their a lake near it? :S Or has the map changed in the sequel because of the two worlds being reunited?

Yes the building and maps are all the same, just they're merged into one whole world. That building is the one at the very start where they recieve the prophesy. It kinda sucks though, DoANW didn't have as many anime cut-cenes as TOS did. (Either the game was rushed or they thought the wii's graphics system couldn't take the heat.) They Do need a way better sequel. Or better yet, a tottaly pwnage sequel to the sequel xD

Seeming as the original was on the Gamecube, I am sure the Wii can handle anime cut scenes also seeming as its hardware is pretty similar. Playing the anime scenes would hardly take any power at all as it's just a bunch of pre-done videos it takes no real GPU power at all. I think like you also said it was most likely development time running out, the publishers put more pressure on getting the title out in time when it is highly anticipated or they cut their funding.

Judging that the sworddancer (which in my opinion is the most awesome sidequest) was missing, there were NO anime cutscenes at all, I think it was a little of both. It would be so much more epic if Emil's confrontation with ricter (sry if it's spelled wrong) in building#2 and lloyd too was in anime. I know the opening sequence is beautiful, but there's enough disk space on the CD's these days they coulda done the whole game that way. At least the cinimatics anyway.

Wow...all the combat scenes in this opener looked so awesome...and both of Emil's scenes were the best. One doesnt make Emil look like a total wuss, and the other shows off Ratatosk's total berserkness...just awesome. Marta and Richter looked good too...if only Richter actually had an attack where he threw his axe...

I think the reason why I don't like this opening is because I heard the Japanese version first. When I first tried out ToS (for the Gamecube in English) I liked the English opening, and got uesd to it. I searched for the Japanese opening on YouTube and didn't really care much about which one's better. So in a way, I think it all depends on which one you listen to first.

I don´t think so, it all depends on your own likes, because I listened to the jap one first, then to this one and I prefered this one the most... because I love orchestrated music, although I love Jap songs too, but I love orchest. more than anything... so, it all depends on what kind of music do you like the most...
