@insaneduane Yes folks... I put the recoil spring in backwards. LOL (no excuse) never saw one any other way. all three of my SKSs came to me that way. Ran/run like a top that way.. my bad though. Thanks for pointing it out.. you're not the first person to do so.... LOL
There is not a "kit" for a SKS to convert it to use AK mags. This is due to the AK magazine being wider than the opening in the SKS receiver. The receiver requires milling to widen the magazine well, welding in a front magazine catch, and cutting the front of the trigger group off then welding a Ak mag catch on it. Also the bolt needs to be milled to narrow it so it will fit between the feed lips of the AK magazine.
how come your sks mag doesnt have a ear like every other sks mag i see? like a L shaped mag like others? is this a mod too?

I noticed you put the recoil spring assembly in backwards (at least according to my SKS manual). Is there a reason why?
