oh man, Did I really just hear this question and answer. "Do I need to believe in god to live a spiritual life." It would be pointless to live a spirtual life if you have no spirit, so the person asking the questin is saying she has a spirit, yet doesn't want to believe in god. How can one have a spirit without a creator. This world is pretty hopeless.

Depends on what you think god is. I know for a fact that the Western god doesn't exist. I won't even capitalize the name, but if anything is god.. its everything. So, no in my opinion.. you don't have to regard anything as god.

Although, i have never seen anybody act as mean and cruel as i have seen some atheist act towards people who believe things that they dont. i think its good to believe and have faith in something. everyone needs something more than just life. or atleast the thought that there is more than life. when somebody says they believe, just let them. and if u think they are insane for doing so, let them be insane. if god is all they have, let them have it, dammit!

I dont understand why some atheists get so touchy and harsh when it comes to somebody else having faith or believing in a god. Personally, i dont know whats out there and i dont know if it will ever be discoverd. but i do believe that there is more than just this. what i live and what is see is not all there is. it cant be. To me, faith means acceptance of truth without evidence. Spirituality is a word that means many things to many people. I have no belief in any god(s) I've ever heard of, as I've seen no convincing evidence.

@foxterrier65 Just so that no one misunderstand me. No I didn't see beyond the overwhelming light. Looking nearer to his face, the light grew in intensity. Coudn't even see His silhoutte. But I knew the light was coming out from his face. That brightest white light that in the end hurt both my physical eyeballs out of sheer intensity of it. It only hurt because I persisted to see His face.

Do I Have To Believe In God To Live A Spiritual Life? no: "you can have a Spiritual life and not believe in God" ... but a Spiritual life doesn't ease the soul when it's troubled it doesn't wipe away the tears in heavy heart ache it doesn't give peace when there's raging worry and it doesn't clean the heart and save the soul only God does that... and God goes far beyond Spirituality in fact God goes past that... into whats called "Relationship" it's not Religion with God it's Relationship :)

In our understanding of the universe nothing can be made without a creator, therefore there is an inbuilt understanding within many humans that we have and the universe has been created.(god)the problem with this off coarse is that we only view the world and the universe from the reality perspective of human beings.If we only recognise reality form our own viewpoint we can never understand the truth behind the universe,or indeed weather or not it was created.

i'll explain with a simple question. how do you believe in something you can't see, hear, touch, smell or feel in any tangible sense of the word?

so someone that questions... beliefs might say to themselves... WHY? should i believe in god. There's no evidence that there is anything beyond the realm that i exist in.

you are just another animal.. and when you die, you'll decompose just like everything else that's organic. no one is special. no one will be "saved"

But I believe life is one, which for me includes the universe, when we or any animal dies, the physical form does decompose but that which brought us to being in the first place remains. If the earth was destroyed I still believe that the soul if you like, of life is still very much alive. Everything is made from the same componants, life cannot truely ever die, for that to happen the whole universe would have to be destroyed.

@love6uk yes how else are people healed in the name of Jesus? how else can someone do a complete 360 and you know they didn't that make the 360 themselves because it is such a miracle change that you find yourself thinking "man this must be God" and what about the people that see after death... some see God in all His glory some see darkness straight from hell so healing and life changing 360s and seeing life after death? are all these just fake or could it be that maybe there really is a God!
