Hey listen I'm from long island and do some urban exploring. I'm actually going to Detroit to see the packerd plant tomorrow.. I'll bring back some video and pics.. But if u can contact me I would love to go check out a few places with I and your explorers..
I've been drawn to old abandoned drive in theaters for decades, documenting many on my public access tv shows. Indoor theaters, not so much...so, thank you for taking me inside this decaying urban landscape, the footage is truely beautiful. Two video suggestions 1: snack bar graffiti AND 2: weird drive in moment.....Does any one know what the name of the DRIVE IN THEATER, which was on the site prior?
very cool what was the name of the song.my friend was at an old theater.in ga he got in somehow.and they left some of the equipment behind.he got hime some big home theater speakers and a couple of amps that sill worked i was suprised to se some of these theaters when abandon how they leave the suff behind sometimes.
the reason that the outside looks so fresh is because it used to be open like 4 years ago , i remember going there to watch movies cause it was totaly empty because everyone was goin to island 16 lol good times, i think im gonna go and explore that place soon
What a shame...so many theatres have closed thanks to DVD's, pay-per-view, satellite TV and HDTV..but I have yet to see any HDTV, even the huge ones, give the experience of seeing it on the big screen.
yo man all of your urban explorer videos are awesome, im from LI and i like to check out places like this whenever i have the time. bro if you ever get a chance check out the abandon oyster factory in east marion deff a sweet place
Me and my friends went there today, they just tore it down D: but it was still cool exploring the massive piles of rubble they left. We found many "artifacts" including master discs, reels, signs, the supports for the theater chairs, the big mirrors on the ceiling, etc etc. I'll have a video of it soon. Lots of fun!
B) What does Virginia have to do with United Artists? I learned plently from my experience there, however it doesn't mean I'm going to live in fear because of it.
I used to work there from 1996 to 2001. I really miss that place. It was a sh*thole then, too, but it brings back awesome memories. Its great recognizning the rooms. Too bad there wasn't more light. The stock room and warehouse would have been cool to see.
I miss that movie theater .. showing my age now, when I was a kid there was a drive in theater located on the same spot, I went there with my Godmother and her husband when I was little and fell asleep LOL. Thanks for the Memories :)

I would love to do this. Only problem is, that they enforce No Trespassing here with a vengeance. And everyone here uses mutant guard dogs.

you need to check behind the screens if you can as there sometimes are a goldmine of big speakers hidden in there..

Yeah I know all about the drive in, I wish I could have seen it. I've spent many a good day in the multiplex though and miss the theater as well.

Could you get into the the seating area?I wonder when it closed?...

We got in to every theater, it's just too dark to see anything. It closed over the summer.
