Sesame Street first introduced me to the Goo Goo Dolls. I used to like this version of the song as a young child. Years later, when I listen to the actual song Slide, it felt strange and very familiar- then I realized why.

This version of the song made me love the way they sound and their general style- and now that I'm older I can appreciate the lyrics and their meaning. ^^

So, she gets pregnant, freaks out, has an abortion, but he loves her anyways. a lot of ugly things happen in life, and we have to deal with them and move on, and this song definitely illustrates that. so really, it's more of a song about love and respect for each other.
