She doesn't have the most powerful voice but she has a surprising amount of range and conveys lots of emotion & attitude in her vocal performances. I can't say that about a lot of the wannabe popstars like Lady Gaga or Katy Perry. They may be able to project their vocals more than Britney but none of them actually show any feeling or relation to what they're singing, nor are they as nice to listen to like Britney. She's a true star, and it's just a bonus she's a gorgeous girl... inside and out.
Britney is a great singer, an amazing one. But her record label pushes her to sing in a sexy way, that she can stand when she sings live. Her voice is an alto, and almost all the song she sings are for mezzosoprans, or even higher (like Toxic and Slave, that are in 5th octave) so she cannot sing in that way. If you listen some demo songs like BABY BOY, LET GO and MY SISTER, you'll see how good singer is she when she sings in her own range.
