  • JAPS MESSER

  • おぉ

  • those damn A vultures always destroy everything what they want

  • Ki-61 - Tony

I agree they should have been saved

but this aircraft looks like it was damaged in action , or by the Japanese themselves at the surrender

Recommend looking at the Ki-100 at the RAF Museum Hendon , London

    * Google it for an image *

[ It is derived from the Ki-61 Fuselage but had a radial engine added due to wartime bombing of the inline engine ]

  • damn vutures. plane should have been restored for future generations !

  • I totally agree; but unfortunately, during the war they had many other things to care about other than keeping some of these aircraft for the future. It has always been like that, even from WWI (the Red Baron´s Fokker Dr-1 was "undressed from its skin" by souvenir hunters after it crashed, for instance), and very probably will always be. I guess that even if nowadays an army captures an enemy aircraft with which they´re familiar to an extent, I doubt they´d save it...

  • @apatheticempathy - I am pretty sure at the time this film footage was shot Jap fighter plane restoration was the last thing on these men's mind! LOL After all there was a war going.

  • @chasf437

true, but after the way nearly ALL Japan's war aircraft were destroyed without history foresight.

Very, very sad for aircraft lovers like me !
