Ok not an expert, but can tell you that there are MANY dialects and accents of chinese. I believe she has the mandarin BEIJING accent, which is kinda hard, and is like Texan-english, just in chinese. And yeah Cantonese has a very harsh tone to it, but a lot harsher than mandarin

Now that I did realized Americans are closed-minded people, lacking culture and understanding of the social interactions in 21st century. China prepared its workers to speak English in 2001 since they announced the 2008 Olympics will be held there. I provided facts and experiences, thus you haven't convinced me yours.
