I wish that BOSS never made that fuckin metal zone pedal, if you wanna sound just like the other kid buy a metal zone... no matter what amp you use it through or what pedal you put it next to it just rapes it and gives you that sterile MT2 sound... there is a reason why your fav. records never feature that god forsaken pedal ... its because it sounds small and like ass!

A lot of death metal bands don't use a lot of gain. Spawn of Possession, The Faceless, Aeon, and Gorod (as examples) don't use much.

I'm pretty sure if you put the compressor after the distortion the note clarity and sustain would be a bit more "extreme".

Man you talk WAAAAAYY too much man, just play the damn pedals. You don't need to explain everything, we can see what you're doing. I just bought that Metal Zone MT-2 pedal, it's awesome!! It's has a variety of sounds for how much it cost. That video sucked dude Please remake it with you just playing compareing the difference between clean channels and each pedals seperatley and then all together. The Metal Zone MT-2 has more balls then the Digitech Metal master or Digitech Death Metal Pedals

Obituary uses Rat distortion over a 50 watt JCM800...with Super distortion pickups.

Using high output pickups helps tons. I use a schecter c-1 classic with a seymour duncan JB sh-4 and get get a heavier tone just using amp eq and overdrive.

I have a Ubermetal pedal..and the Insane channel (dist maxed) gives a massive Distortion...

AND...when you use distortion...you dont get clean sound ? you get freaking distorted...if you want more clean..get overdrive. easy talk :

Distortion -> Maxxxxeedd out = Metal

Overdrive + Eq = Blues, Jazz

Death Metal ? god knows..2 distortion pedals and a noise gate?

Where is the tremolo picking, the muted power chords, and shit? You haven't proven to me this is a death metal tone. Obituary sounds more morbid and filtered than that. Obituary's sound isn't that clean.

The Boss HM-2 with all the knobs turned up is proven death metal tone.
