  • DAM! That's an air gun!? Where did you buy that, and what kind of pressures does it use? You machined the bullet yourself? That would suck if you missed the phone books and shoot through your walls.

  • @ajohnson It did suck when there wasn't enough phone books first time. It's my built PCP, 3kpsi usual, sabot is machined from plastic stock, bullet is combloc manufacture but a machined steel one would do better.

  • i would like to see how accurate is your rifle with those bullets

  • @asvestomixZ Lead bullets are most accurate, sometimes < 1/2 MOA. These ones are not so good

but I have used this kind for small pest control at < 30yd. You need a fast twist barrel to stabilise, 1-12" or

    faster.

  • @Rakemaan interesting, maybe i start shooting bullets instead of pellets? :p

  • @Rakemaan sabot's are btter for armor piercing than anything else, the ones we use in the smoothbore cannon the tank has drop or wobble about 1 inch every mile traveled, but when you get something that moves a mile a second it's moving a bit fast for that

  • what was that number at 1:25 basten d j &j k. lol

and why would you shoot a phonebook. i could have used them.

  • @TheYouwillsuffer Just random, or maybe Paul the Bullet is psychic and picks the next lottery winner. I use old phone books, for backstops.

  • @Rakemaan lol. hope its me. cool vid tho..

  • could you use that round again?

  • @Icosan20 Yes but it's not ideal

  • i love this gun with pistol trigger sys. i love it

  • @Arielelda Most have brass casings. The jacketed bullets are mostly lead with a copper jacket. This one is not your average bullet, it's steel cored.

  • All I gotta say is holy shit! what is coating that lead?

  • @marcothydarko Not lead, it's a steel core bullet jacketed with copper alloy.

  • THATS WHAT I CALL PENETRATION, EXCELLENT JOB MY MAN

  • @Deathz0r94 Yeah, thats a beast of a bullet. Almost no deformation!! :O Sick!

  • @2URBO2 I will try not to be within a mile or two of that round then.... :)

  • @Deathz0r94 Yeah, or else you would definitive be in danger! :O

  • Home made gun????

  • man that is one sweet PCP build, And very powerful! two thumbs up on both looks and action! I subbed!

  • i have a 50 cal airgun with a 8 foot pipe and still not as bad ass as yours

  • can it kill?

  • Think of it this way, wet phonebooks are used to roughly estimate penetration in game animals. These are dry, so tougher. This would over-penetrate, so for big-bore hunting people normally use pure lead hollow-points for maximum expansion.

  • @Rakemaan well steel bullet work better

  • steel would go further through armor and stuff but would make a much smaller hole cause it wont expand

  • @laser5890 This bullet is nearly all steel with a copper jacket. Since there's no deformation, all steel would not do any better or worse.

  • @Rakemaan well, that's a jacketed bullet with a lead core, the steel is lighter so it'd go faster, but penetrate less

  • @drewnickel Nope this is definitely a steel bullet, I've cut them open. 180gr Romanian milsurp, I think it was intended for machine gun only. It's unusually long to make up for the low density.

  • @Rakemaan AMAZING ,ARE U A MACHINIST OR ENGINEER,IS THE BARREL RIFLED?????????

  • @frog45678 , yes yes and yes. I rifle these barrels, best group reported with this was 3 shots, 0.316" @ 100yd.

  • @Rakemaan lol awesome great gun

  • @Rakemaan I agree, my shotgun will pierce through 1400 pages of a dry phone book and over 2000 of a wet one, so that's pretty much saying, your air rifle, comes pretty close to the killing power of my 12-gauge shotgun. great job 5/5

  • duh

  • WOW, that was awesome!

  • so books can be used as a cheap balistic plate? Just fill a backpack with books and you have cheap bulletproof protection

  • @generaldeejee

This gun proves books can't be used as ballistic plate, not at all. It penetrated 4 phone books with air.

  • that is insane!

probably as powerful as a standard 9mm or 38. handgun? ive seen videos of them with similar results.

my 1000fps air rifle can only go thru 3/4 of ONE phonebook. even my 150lbs crossbow can only penetrate 85 90% of one standard phonebook. lol

what is the lbs of energy on 50cal@900fps?

  • Depending on bullet weight, this one is up to 330 ft-lbs muzzle energy. That's similar to .38spl and 9x19 at the muzzle, but because it uses long heavy bullets it has much more energy downrange than those pistol bullets. e.g. at 400yd it still has about 250 ft-lbs.

  • so what it can almost take down a blue whale? lol

  • Yes, you'd have to mount the blue whale and shoot it in the blow-hole and hope it suffers a pulmonary embolism. Could take a while.

  • one of the most powerful pcp i recall is the dragon slayer korean made, 50cal@600fps or so. you wouldn't happen to own the same one?

you need licensing to own big bore pcp over there?

went thru 5 standard size phone books, insane. ive seen 9mm go thru around 2 1/2 of the really thick ones, and figured yours had similar power. u can take down some serious game i bet.

  • The dragonslayer is one of the lowest power .50cal PCP's, only 200fpe. This one is 330fpe which is still tame compared to some tuned up to 500 or 600fpe (only one shot though). In some places no licence is required but authorities are re-asessing the situation given the latest airguns.

  • The dragonslayer was 150-160 ft lbs I thought.

That would barely qualify for big bore wouldn't it?

If you don't go custom, is there no better option than 150ft/lb?

  • This is around 850fps with 289ft/lbs.

A 9mm Luger 123gr FMJ pistol ammo has 470ft/lbs but most other 9mm's are in 300s.

My AirForce Condor .25 with 31gr pellet and 70ft/lbs goes through 1700 pages.

  • Nice looking rifle! Can we get a better look at the gun. Did you make the stock yourself, the gun looks like it has a good fit and finish. Are you planning to up the fps. Nice job!

  • Thanks, I don't have a name, maybe you can suggest one. It's "Revision C" for now.

  • The jacketed bullet is .30 calibre, not .50, but the twist rate of the barrel is fast enough to stabilise .30 bullets so I have used them at long range, they don't tumble.

  • almost went into the wall lol
