@eSkateMonkeys welcome to the world of DSLRs...higher end DSLRs are usually weather sealed and survive rain, snow and sand. They won't survive being fully submerged in water unless in a diving case. GoPro cameras can survive any punishment you throw at them but image quality isn't anywhere near as good as a DSLR. Cameras have come a looooong way lol.

@achaser123 Nice! The D7000 looks like it took some good hits from the spray. :)

Out of curiosity and I don't know if you're able (or willing) to comment on this, but one early reviewer has stated that that pics from the D7000 don't appear as sharp as the D90. I'm looking to replace my D80 with a D7000, but this has me wondering - most likely unnecessarily as one review is not definitive but still, it does plant a seed of doubt. How have you found the D7000's performance?

Chase! I'm so jealous! Its been my dream to photograph on sailing yachts in conditions like this. I'm in the process of completing my competent crew qualification! Maybe one day I might be able to do this to.
