  • hi musci lovers, Im from mexico, I like a lot the carebean riddims, a live in the coast and here we dance salta, cumbia an others...now im researcheng about soca and calypso, but i have doubt if those are the same thing or diferent.

    Can some body let me know???

  • they are different. Soca is modern contemporary music from Trinidad and some eastern Caribbean islands. It evolved from calypso which is based on more traditional rhythms and goes back to days of slavery and such
