ZR1 is faster but not easy to drive for a normal driver, GTR has a better handling and is easier for a normal people who just want to have a fast car, but I think ZR1 is better looking as well, but the built quality well let's say is not at highest level.... to sum up they are just different cars for different people

Honestly, it was fair all the way through its just that Porsche's drivers didn't do that well and they were even offered lessons on how to drive the GTR. The vette's time was a hoak in a way but not the GTR's.

I happen to have a friend at the Koenigsegg factory and I know they went there with a few people. Hell their entire company is only 11 men. When it comes to Ferrari. They NEVER did a Ferrari endorsed factory test at the Nurburgring except their new 599XX and they are way beyond modding their cars to produce misleading lap times. There is a difference between tuneshops or private people running their own cars and factory speed record attempts.

Stillen gets 610 hp out of the Nissan engine so you can extract more power from it, vs the 475 to 504 it has standard, but its a monster car just off the esembly line! I love that they made the skyline a killer from factory spec...

ZR1 body is very soft. You can inflect it by a light hand pushing.Ofcourse, if you prefer can with body like paper, you will chose ZR1. I prefer GT-R.

I respect both the Corvette and the GT-R. I love both cars, both are an amazing work of engineering. The thing that sticks out the most for me is that the Corvette is about 450 pounds lighter and has about 160 more HP and about 175 more lbs-ft Torque, and yet it is only 12 seconds quicker. Nissan uses Toshio Suzuki as their test driver. He is a professional world champion formula 1 driver. He reported that he ran the GTR in the ring thousands of times. Yes , thousands. He shaved nearly 30 seconds off his lap time so far.

sport auto testet the nisan also withe the time 7.38, and they had mad all laptimes of porsches (all cars driving by the same driver) so you can compare the time of the nissan and gtr (gtr 6s slower then the porsche turbo) but the 7.29 isan´t true!!! look at the date logger of this round, on the straigt lines of the track the speed of the gtr was only possible wit round about 600+ps so i´m sure it wasna´t stock

I don't see why people brag about the ZR1. Not only is it 16 degrees C, it's a partial wet track. Also, the ZR1 has a 630hp engine while the GT-R only has 480.

check out the sport auto lap times, always driven by the same driver. they say more than any nissan promo video could do, just like a lot of other independent sources. it got smoked by a rwd gt2 in one comparo test, on a partially wet nordschleife! it`s losing against a rwd car on a wet track, but beats it on a dry one? how does this work?
Why not believe Nissan you take the word on every other car test vid on the Nurb. So the ZR1 is real the Enzo is real the GT2 is and so on, but oh no the Nissan is fake? either way it's still a better car wether it loses or not... the GT2 is double the price! the GTR is £60,000 the GT2 £120-130,000.

I don't see the GTR winning anything close to the records the Corvette or even the Camaro to own. It's only as good as it is because of it's AWD. ZR1 is faster but not easy to drive for a normal driver, GTR has a better handling and is easier for a normal people who just want to have a fast car, but I think ZR1 is better looking as well, but the built quality well let's say is not at highest level.... to sum up they are just different cars for different people

Not only the tyres were changed. I expect the entire car was modified to hell and back. Nissan wanted to market the new Nissan GTR like they did with the old Nissan Skyline. They were the ones that started the Nurburgring modding and faking. The american Corvette, Viper and hell even Cadillac did their faking shortly after. But they are denying it still ofcourse. Even after Corvette admitted using full rollcage and a number of other tweaks.

Nissan did release an image of the actual tires used for the test plus a second video of the lap as proof that its 7m 29s lap time is legitimate. Nissan has also revealed that the GT-R used in the official lap time was actually at a disadvantage due to up to 50kg of testing equipment. Honestly, it was fair all the way through its just that Porsche's drivers didn't do that well and they were even offered lessons on how to drive the GTR. The vette's time was a hoak in a way but not the GTR's.

I happen to have a friend at the Koenigsegg factory and I know they went there with a few people. Hell their entire company is only 11 men. When it comes to Ferrari. They NEVER did a Ferrari endorsed factory test at the Nurburgring except their new 599XX and they are way beyond modding their cars to produce misleading lap times. There is a difference between tuneshops or private people running their own cars and factory speed record attempts.

The interesting part to the argument is, how many could get close to that Nurburgring time of you here in a ZR1 or a GT-R for that matter? I bet that number is ZERO!
But what I am sure of is that everyone here would drive faster around the ring in the GT-R than in the ZR1!
Keeping that overpowered Vette in check is going to be a pain, while the GT-R with the worlds most advanced and best 4WD will give you a fast laptime without worrying about suddenly getting oversteer, and make you feel good.

I respect both the Corvette and the GT-R. I love both cars, both are an amazing work of engineering. The thing that sticks out the most for me is that the Corvette is about 450 pounds lighter and has about 160 more HP and about 175 more lbs-ft Torque, and yet it is only 12 seconds quicker. My two cents.

Thats only because the ZR1 has NOT been on this track many times. And Jim Mero, who is NOT a professional driver, (hes just one of the ZR1 engineers) drove the car. Nissan uses Toshio Suzuki as their test driver. He is a professional world champion formula 1 driver. He reported that he ran the GTR in the ring thousands of times. Yes , thousands. He shaved nearly 30 seconds off his lap time so far.

sport auto testet the nisan also withe the time 7.38, and they had mad all laptimes of porsches (all cars driving by the same driver) so you can compare the time of the nissan and gtr (gtr 6s slower then the porsche turbo) but the 7.29 isan´t true!!! look at the date logger of this round, on the straigt lines of the track the speed of the gtr was only possible wit round about 600+ps so i´m sure it wasna´t stock
but 7,38min is alsoverry very fast!!! and unbelievable with 1,8t respect nissan!!

When the ZR1 did the 7:40, it was a trial run not a full blown track timed run unlike the GT-R. Zr1 Did NUMEROUS 7:40 runs before MUCH later running the 7:26.
The GTR did a 7:38, porsche did 7:40's 7:50's in the GTR, NOT Nissan.
7:38 vs 7:26 is NOT 30 seconds difference, go back to school.
Zr1 = 7:40's then 7:26 then 7:22 never happened... BULLSHIT!!!!
I would love to see anyone post any of those times other than a GM driver.

This car shows up the big boys for the fakes they are Ferrari = over priced, Lambo = over priced, Aston Martin (though I love) = overpriced, Bentley = (AGAIN I LOVE) over priced, and all the other high priced crap... the high prices they charge are just for morons who think that heritage and passion count, when no it's the name badge and colour! their buying... Nissan and GM (ZR1) are showing us that you can do it for less MUCH less and get better performance... hope they keep it up!

no magazin or racing driver was able to to lap the ring in less than 7:50, with a stock version. don't get me wrong it's a great car and it would eat a 997 tt any day, but nissans claims are sci-fi

check out the sport auto lap times, always driven by the same driver. they say more than any nissan promo video could do, just like a lot of other independent sources. it got smoked by a rwd gt2 in one comparo test, on a partially wet nordschleife! it`s losing against a rwd car on a wet track, but beats it on a dry one? how does this work?

Why not believe Nissan you take the word on every other car test vid on the Nurb. So the ZR1 is real the Enzo is real the GT2 is and so on, but oh no the Nissan is fake? either way it's still a better car wether it loses or not... the GT2 is double the price! the GTR is £60,000 the GT2 £120-130,000.

just like i said: "sport auto" laptimes. the z06 does a 7:41 and the gt2 a 7:32 (both sport auto) and i have no doubt that the zr1 is capable of what gm claims if you take a look at the proven zo6 time.
search for enzo and nürburgring on this site and you will find an independent prove of what this thing is capable of even with a damaged magnetic ride control. no companie was involved in these times.

GM did there own test of the ZR1 and NO-ONE has EVER doubted, it cannot be done... So why pick on the GTR? All the sites I have been on and all that I have read about the ZR1 not one person doubts the times? But the GTR comes into question all the time oh this and oh that... go to wikipedia search "nürburgring laptimes" and check out the source (pistonheads) for the gt-r time. it was clocked by response magazine, but the driver was Toshio Suzuka (nissans chief tester) and the car was prepared by nissan chief enginner Kazutoshi Mizuno. independent source my ass. check out the "sport auto" laptimes are clocked without any company being highly involved and the gt2 almost scratched the 7:30 barrier.

You to me are one of those people who say Ferrari, Lambo, and Porsche are all to do with heritage and prestige. To me thats bullshit, and an excuse. The GTR has proven time and time again it's THEE bench mark for cars of £60,000. Spending more than that for the name badge and heritage is sad nothing more, and it's not about speed it's about the best buy period for the money and the GTR is better than any other car even Porsche for the money.
