  • Sorry man but oh my god does this sound bad, line 6 is way to digital. It sounds terrible. The mic'ing was good. but you know the saying "Garbage in, garbage out".

  • whenever i record on soundtrack pro, number one the sound is choppy and number two. i cant hear myself until after i played the recording. this is bad because i cant play well without hearing myself. please help

  • and yes, as said below don't use any solid sate unless your going direct to ADD tonal variations to a preexisting tube amp sound... i do like line 6 for that though...

  • im not trying to be negitive...but those are some of the worst guitar mic audio samples ive ever heard... i understand the video is demonstating mic placement....but damn that sounds like shit...

  • very nice!!!

i actually don´t have an amp, even a mic, but i can simulate satisfactorily those kind of positions on my korg ax3000g...just setting very low times (1 or 2) on delay and reverb...i really don´t know why it happens, but sounds pretty similar to this microphoning techniques

    thanks, nice examples (=

  • another tip - don't record using a line 6

  • @willashland

Use an All-Tube amp if you want to record guitars with professional sound...

It's expensive as fuck (at least for me becuase I want an ENGL or a Mesa)

    but it's worth it

  • cant you just plug a cable from your headphone or speaker output to your interface?

  • You can, but it rarely gets you a good sound.

  • Best video ive seen yet.

    Tips for having 2 microphones?

  • recording with 2 mics is awesome. try this:

One close and centre (presence + high end) and the other mic distant and off axis (space + low end) but make sure you follow the 3:1 rule. Ans then you can play with this like..a sm57 close and a MD421 far etc...depending on what you are using to capture a determined frequency band (in this case the md421 has very good low end so use it off axis)

Try one of the stereo techniques on my other vids,

  • Good demonstration

  • If you only have one cone, you can only use that one, if you have 2 cones, you have the choice to choose which one suits you better

  • what if your speakers in the middle
