My first ever vote I ever cast in a national election is for Jim Webb against George Allen in the 2006 Virginia Senate race. George "Macaca" Allen losing his seat was utterly hilarious.

When I was in college I was aware that use of the word was not correct - if this man was this ignorant in college as a young adult I really doubt he's any smarter as an older adult. And the purpose of the Black Caucus - the Black Caucus exists as a group within Congress. The members meet outside of Congress to discuss issues that would affect the black community in the country specifically, such as affirmative action legislation or civil rights bills. Just a private meeting of black congresspeople.

To wrap up the last post - My only objection to a White Caucus would be the redundancy. Congress is mostly white to begin with. Also, whites don't ususally identify themselves as white, but as a certain nationality, such as Irish or German, because a nationality has usually had more of a common experience in the U.S. than whites as a whole. Also, there is rarely legislation that specifically mentions or affects whites as a whole. Think of it as more of a support group than a political cadre.

How would it be redundant? "Most" is not "all." The point of the Black Caucus is to act along racial lines. Whites need to do the same. Legislation that affects Blacks (all their free money programs) affect Whites because they are the ones paying for them, so there is a very clear need for a White Caucus.

Would you suggest a Men's Caucus in Congress as well?
