  • can't tell if the taylor's big or the Olson's small.

  • @joedcashen

He's useing a Taylor. And Phil is useing an olsen

  • what kind of guitar is james using ?

  • Phil instantly follows

  • this might just be a guess, but I don't think dreamtheather musicians and Phil Keaggy are ever going to collaborate.:)

  • @wileypayote Dude that probably wouldn't happen but just because someone plays a different genre doesn't mean you can't collaborate on stuff. And if you think that the band is only limited to certain kinds of music look up John Petrucci in depth adn look at all he can play.

  • amazing!!!!

  • does anyone know what those two songs are called?

  • The first is James's "The Other Side of Light." The second is Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now."

  • Love this man..Both sides now !

Waycool surprise, by the way davidaaronmusic hit it in his comments. I'm in "Show-Biz" 30 years now and the Best Artists to work with are humble..."Check the ego at the studio door". If your good, you don't need to tell people, they will see for themselves if you got the goods..like Phil !

  • James Labrie, extreme makeover. From singer to guitar-player

  • i was thinking the same thing haha

  • he's real nervous...look at him figiting

  • Wow that was sooo cool.

  • Hi James,

It was great to hear you playing the guitar! Hope you are doing fine. Oksana

  • Nice song, Phil is all over it. He is at his best when he just plays off the cuff like this. I agree though he is humbly laying back to let James have the spotlight.

  • or maybe he just enjoys playing the guitar without always attempting blistering technical performance

  • I agree. With what both of you said. Phil is seriously the most humble person around. He has no problem sitting back and letting someone else play. That in itself is a contradiction to what most people think of guitar players personalities. Phil knows where his talent comes from, and it keeps him humble.

  • Very impressive arrangement of Joni's "Both Sides Now". Was this performance pure improvisation?

  • graet tune man its unusual to see someone who can actually get the tapping down

  • Jimmy! Nice work. It's a joy to see you do your thing. I'll bet that was a rush playing with Phil K. What a ball. You shouldn't have held back, he may have kept up? ;)

  • This guy (James La Brie) is the lead singer of Dream Theater. Their awesome and he's one of metals bets voices! Cool pairing

  • Nope -- wrong James La Brie. This is a different guy with the same name. Understandable mistake though.

  • This is really pretty stuff.. but Phil, w/ his ever present humility, holds back and allows the other guy to shine. Huh?! That was generous of him. Phil's a riot, he REALLY does restrain himself here! Hah! A classy man.

  • Wow, I could not agree with you more.
