  • I am a beginner and your tips have really helped. I will like to know the pricing for cleaning windows. I will appreciate if you can tell me the market standard so that i will know what price to give my clients.

  • @gettingitdonetn Find out what others charge. Discount it by 15%.

  • Thank you, very useful

  • Thanks, this is very simple and useful. I am thinking of starting a window cleaning business.

  • I tried this today because I want to implement it into my cleaning business. Thank you for the tips. I did an allright job for my first time. Just takes practice I guess. Please also let us know when you find this "real" bucket. My paper mache ones just dont hold up lol.

  • Very helpful. Thanks.

  • I WANT that mustache! And the shirt!

  • you dont need a special solution just use washing up liquid

  • I have squeegee and sponge too but the squeegee is so hard ,firm as a rock and doesnt make nothing just mess, streaks, and cleans half part everything :////:(

  • Get a replacement blade. Not much different than replacing the wiper blade on a car.

  • good job!

  • and you should not ever take the bucket in the house. and one more thing don't use your hand use the back of the squeegee.

  • you need to get a real bucket

  • You need to get some videos on your channel showing us what this mystical real bucket looks like. I went to your channel and you are a ghost. Nothing there to tell us who you are and why you are the Bucket Guru.

  • It's difficult to find these so-called real buckets nowadays. I think he's referring to the Renoir '75, which is often held as a myth by scholars. The closest we can come to the great Renoir is the "Standard plastic bucket." perfected just over 14 years ago by home improvement stores such as home depot. Those will suit you just fine, Mr. Builder. As far as i can tell, you were already using the "standard plastic bucket" though, so there is no argument.

  • what about windex or 409, but with dry microfiber clothes. please respond. thanks

  • Watch the video again. The scrubber tool takes all of the dirt off the glass. Your method doesn't. If your method was the best, pro window washers would employ it.

  • no.....use dawn

  • you got a pic of a real one thanks

  • if ur saying how to do it, y not clean the windo right uve left lines by just going across, the squeegy shouldnt leave the window until top to bottom is whipped

  • Where I work we use Glass Gleam 4. I think thats about the best solution you can use on the glass. Does anybody have any squeegee preferences?

I use Sorbos but i dont really like them cause they are too thick for the purposes that i use them for. I like the really thin brass ones like hes got, and i also like unger.

  • I clean windows professionally and I must say you are right on. Windex is too expensive to clean windows. We use a Kay Chemicals soap that mixes a big batch of window cleaning solution. Household soap works well too.

    A few tips...

Buy a good scrubber, like a cotton one, cotton will not scratch the surface.

I squeegee in a vertical motion from the right to left, or with the way the wind is blowing; I only wipe half of the squeegee, the half that retouches the clean side.

  • Thanks for your helpful tips. It is always great when a pro weighs in with some extra info.

  • what about windex or 409. please respond. thanks

  • Both of those leave dirt behind. Watch and listen to the video once more.

  • good video, when using the squeegee though you should never take it of until the whole piece of glass is done, by working in a circular motion from the top to the bottom you will leave no run marks leaving a perfectly clean window :)

your vids are great by the way, thanks

  • Great advice!

  • Well that's a common way, but if you clean the half of your squeegee that retouches the glass, (if you are cleaning horizontally or vertically) you should have no streaks either. Remember to use a cotton towel and a good flexible squeegee!

  • Hey Tim, Do you have any techniques for cleaning windows that are cedar? My windows are natural cedar and I don't dare get them wet. Thanks!

  • So what if they are cedar? I see water get on cedar all the time with no ill affects.

  • The cedar windows are not treated. They are in a Florida room and I like the natural cedar look.

  • I understand. But what happens if you get a little water on the frame and then wipe it off? If this causes damage, then you need to clean carefully with a damp cloth.

  • Still a great idea for washing the windows on the outside :)

  • Don't worry about the edges so much, if you use the swirl method or circular method as mentioned before, only put a towel underneath (bottom)

This is usually used on home floors, but could be used on window if it isn't too think

Wiping off really quick probably won't do any harm, or maybe a cedar-safe soap?

  • Actually changing a squeegee rubber is much easier. Just bring your squeegee to the nearest janitorial supply and I'm sure they will change it for you. Look in the yellow pages for the janitorial supplier nearest you.

  • Yellow Pages??? :-> How about Googling squeegee blades your city

  • Googling janitorial supplies in (your city) will bring better results. If you know where your yellow pages are, that will be easiest. Google will bring far too many results. Less energy save time. Thank you for doing a Good job!

  • These Micro Fiber cloths are the best. I think that the best deals are from Smeer Free. I like the fact that they are ECO Smeer Free. We need to really start caring about our earth.

  • can somebody tell me the best technique to clean second story curved glass windows using a pole?

  • The squeegee blade must be plumb with the ground. This means left to right or vice versa strokes. A pole from the ground is useless. You need to be in the air next to the glass panel.

  • Thats the same technique I use and I've only been cleaning 20 years!

  • think all the tips are great he is just being picky

  • incorrect squeegie technique

  • Why did you stop there? Please share the technique you use.

  • Search 'Window cleaning fanning' 1 2 and 3.

It's what we all use to get it done faster.

You can also do the side to side thing without wiping the squeegee with the right technique, but I won't go into that, it's only needed for things like the curved glass on revolving doors, reaching over big office desks with a pole etc.

  • Wait until you see how easy and quick it is. Just watch how fast pros clean plate glass!
