@allthenamesrtook How can it be a lutz when he doesn't even spot with his free leg on take off or indeed take off from a back outside edge? An axel has a forward outside edge take off with no spot from the toe rake. A very decent attempt here, it was not fully rotated but still a great attempt.

@Franekbobek before you spin make sure your leg and arms are as far our fom your core as possible. After you start to spin pull your limbs in close to your body. This decreases you rotational inertia. Try it, spin arround on you desk chair with your arms spread out, then pull them in. You will speed up. Throwing your arms out again slows you down

oh thats igor macypura! he's amazing i saw him doing all kinds of quads back in the day! quad toe, quad sal, and he's the only person ive ever seen do a quad flip. and he can triple sal and double axel both ways and he did a triple axel in hockey skates! i heard he teaches skating at the east west ice palace now.

This is a really interesting video and thank you for posting it. Imagining what a quad axel would look like is very difficult until you see someone trying it.

Also, people should realize that equipment (ie skate design) is likely a limitation to whether a quad axel or quintuple toes will ever be truly possible. Not until they redesign skate technology will this be achievable IMHO.

I think at this point it's only a matter of time before a quad axel or quintuple toe will be landed. Not a matter of if it's possible.
