  • Very optimistic as far as locking horns with armour.

  • @hetmanbasza i don't think saying "that small anti-tank gun you have just been issued wont do squat" would go down well lol

  • @Brainleaf74

That small caliber of a projectile touted as "anti-tank" worked only very well in the mind of the educated biurocrat that was in charge of procurement and fielding it on paper.

Once a real person stood behind it and tried to ambush a real live tank, its short commings came up to the surface! The other thing man using these pea shooters had to be good at was camouflage and knowing which battles to pick.

  • @hetmanbasza its like a lot of the things issued to units from pretty much all armies at the start of the war .by the time you actually have to use it more than likely its already out of date.a bit like the germans door knocker which was a pretty awful gun given its intended role .also to small to fire HE rounds worth anything.in n,africa you see a lot of the smaller stuff still in use,but it soon gets relegated to a secondary role or just done away with all together .

  • @Brainleaf74

    Correct.

Technology moved forward. Even muskets were king for a while.

I like some of the forgotten stuff that makes a comeback. Take 20mm Solothurn. It was obsolete the day it was deployed only becasue armour on tanks got thicker but as long as noone is comming at you in a tank; you will win every time!

Best feature here is it comes in 2 pieces of manegable length and packs a wallop that .50 cannot match.

  • oh yes because a tank is going to turn to its side just so u can shoot them..

  • @DoodRanchGD no a Thompson was a british weapon.

  • @ColeckZz Correction, the Thompson was invented by American General John T. Thompson. Its early popularity with the gangsters soured relations with the American military at first, but the British adopted it early on before adopting the Sten.

  • @ColeckZz, shows how much you know

  • @ColeckZz are you stupid or something?

  • What! No Thompson? ur kidding me right?

  • cool i liked it

  • no one commented WTF?
