Cutting in-home to the elderly is bullshit. I have an elderly mother who wishes to spend the remaining years of her life in her own home. I am going to respect these wishes. Part of her spirit of individuality and independence is tied to that need and I do not wish for her to lose that.
@mrquiet2009 I understand your concern. Some people deteriorate very quickly - lose their will to live - when they are placed in a nursing home. My father is in a nursing home. I think with a reasonable level of home care he could still be at home.
Cutting In-home support-service is bullshit. I have an elderly mother and have previously worked in nursing homes.Knowing how crappy these places can be, I'm supporting my mother's wishes to live in her own house in her golden years. To not do so would deprive her of her individuality and independence, and I am not willing to do that.
@garysdeskcom sorry about the dual message. My computer is having problems, so I wasn't sure if the message got through. My mother is a very independent person and literally thrives on being able o do whatever she wants whenever she wants. This is why, if we can, we are going to take a look at all in-home service options, so that her wishes can be respected.
