Most "hotels" are pretty outrageously priced. If you want to stay in a "hotel" plan on at least $400 a night, and that's pretty rock bottom.
The alternative, which we did, is to stay in B&Bs and "guest houses". About $150-175 a night for something decent.
There's a super cheap option called "Nono" on the island for about $60-75 a night I believe. I stayed that on my 2006 visit. That's the cheapest you can find.
@FrictionFruit Bora Bora is very expensive. More expensive than the other Tahitian islands. I would say the resorts on the motus are $1200+ USD per night, and the ones on the main land can be anywhere from $300+ USD a night. Generally much much more. A few hundred dollars gets you a basic accommodation only and no resort amenities
