I believe the artist does say it is gouache. It isn't acrylic. Gouache is sometime called opaque watercolor and very different from watercolor, but is gouache and the painting techniques for gouache are less like watercolor and more like acrylic. It is nicely done. I like the bold and sure use of the brush and colors. Using the toothbrush is a common technique for spray effects

There are two types of watercolor: transparent and opaque. Many people use a mixture of both. It is not a flaw to use what ever tools you have in your toolbox. Some people prefer one thing or another. Gouache is just the french term for opaque watercolor. Personally, I like using whatever gets the job done and comes natural for me, as do many artists. I enjoyed this video. Thank you.

Well... Searching for a good watercolor video on water, this looked rather... odd at the beginning. It still looked odd at the end, even if your skill is obvious. The sky struck me odd, but I loved the water... before it got the blue lines. It completely shot the rather gorgeous reflective painting that was done under it, and it did very little else but... cover up those colors.

For my water search, it worked. As an overall... meh. But still, good work, continue working!

Amazing but the painting was ruined when he painted the strong waves. Although he wants to show a bad weather, the painting looked better without the so much details of the waves and the splash of water should have been emphasized better. Because the current of the waves are so strong but it didn't show enough splashing of water on the rocks.

i agree. there was one point that the water looked semi sorta ok (before he added a bunch of flecks and extra blue waves) but the rest of the painting looks muddy and very ugly in my opinion.

The sea is too much transparent in contrast to the vawes and rocks, and the whole color look is muddy and uncomposed. This video doesnt deserve so much views.

There is no such thing as brown sky, ant the "clouds" look like smoke coming from some volcano.

If the ones that are amazed by art like this and generaly love art, there is so much better videos to be found for them on youtube, and they will benefit you so much more ... if you put an freaking effort to find them and to understand the difference between this and a quality painting!

Otherwise, you will always sucks, and this is not an insult but an helpful critisizm that you will have to learn to cope with and to be glad to recive.

Hi. This is from an indian film called "Roja", title of the song is "Roja Janneman".

I dun know if there is the instrumental version that we are listening here.

There exists two version of this song: one in tamil and the other in Hindi.

The reflection of light is absolutely gorgeous, I used to fail every time I tried to show light on water, and failed everytime I used watercolours in general, but this is amazing and you have tought me well.

I agree about the white paint splatterings against the rocks- it shows that the water is turbulent, and yet there are calm relections on the water in front. Water agitation should have been on the foreground scape as well.
