I lived in Sweden and Norway for five years, loved the climate - even the cold and rainy days - and even the winters were wonderful with their short days and their candle-filled long nights.

The long days and hours of sunshine in the summer fully compensate for the short days and few hours of sunlight in the winter, and the people are fully adapted since millenia.

Just for comparison, GINI; Quatar = .40, Luxemburg = .26, Singapore = 47.8. And Luxemburg is a tiny country with 500k in population.

I think that could be accurate. The disparity in the US is huge, they place 39th in the GINI index (Norway is 134th) and the 1% richest are good for over 40% of the wealth: This lowers the US median. But it does not mean avrg. Norwegians have three times the purchasing power parity.

I wouldn't call 1% of the WORLDS LARGEST FUND (about 3000 billion NOK) a small sum. One percent of that is: 30 billion NOK, about as much as Sweden puts into healthcare each year. Not to talk about all the tax on the profits, the exports, the income... That is the reason to why 30% of Norwegians are able to be state employed, 20% on social welfare and 13% 'to sick to work'...

I lived in Sweden and Norway for five years, loved the climate - even the cold and rainy days - and even the winters were wonderful with their short days and their candle-filled long nights.

Its scientifically proven that Scandinavians over many years lack sunlight, and suffer depression, sickness and anxiety as result. @triggerhappyrentacop Furthermore, my family comes from right next to Scandinavia and considerably further up north than Oslo, yet in their area, the people lack even more sunlight in the winter than yours, yet the great majority does not suffer from depression, sickness and anxiety as a result. The long days and hours of sunshine in the summer fully compensate for the short days and few hours of sunlight in the winter, and the people are fully adapted since millenia.

Where we invest (limit) of 5% into world relestate (i.e oxfordstreet, london), every norwegian is worth over $100000 in this fund. @TheKapers83 also worth mentioning, along with the highest median income, we're (norwegians) fourth in per capita GDP (after Quatar, Luxemburg, and Singapore), and at the same time have a GINI index of about .25 (2008 CIA factbook), which means the lowest income inequality in the world (togheter with the rest of scandinavia).
Just for comparison, GINI; Quatar = .40, Luxemburg = .26, Singapore = 47.8. And Luxemburg is a tiny country with 500k in population.

I think that could be accurate. The disparity in the US is huge, they place 39th in the GINI index (Norway is 134th) and the 1% richest are good for over 40% of the wealth: This lowers the US median. Remember, almost a third of the US population currently qualifies as "poor". Also the living cost in Norway is a lot higher - thus assets like housing, cars and machinery tend to be worth more. But it does not mean avrg. Norwegians have three times the purchasing power parity.

@dragoonreborn The 1% having 40% of the wealth doesn't do anything to the median(in theory it would stay stagnant if the middle 50% are doing the same which they are from what i heard, even the since wealth is combination of wealth and assets our median should be around $100k), also that does make sense but you'd think since they're taxed out of the ying yang there the pirces of stuff would be more comparable to here. i think over $150k income you're taxed 50% in norway.
