I am an absolute fan of Steve Tibbetts. He is one of my top 6 gtr players (John Abercrombie, Bill Frisell, Egberto Gismonti, Ralph Towner, Terje Rypdal.) His music like Stephan Micus, Eberhard Weber, Nana Vasconcelos and Meredith Monk defy all categories and yet touch almost every culture out there.

ever heard of Ed Wynne. He is the guitarist/band leader of Ozric Tentacles. The guitarist for melting euphoria is also underrated and unknown. Also there is Kazumi Watanabe and Steffi Sharpstrings and Daevid Allen of Gong.

A friend of mine turned me onto Tibbetts when he pulled out the s/t on vinyl one day. The man is amazing! I've been listening to Yr a lot lately and every time I hear it, I discover something that I didn't remember from the listen before. Love it!

she is tibetan, due to the occupation of her country her family sought shelter in nepal, nation that now facilitates the persecution of tibetans outside tibet. she identifies her self as a tibetan residing in nepal.

she has a nepali citizenship because if she kept her refugee status travel and business is quite difficult. google it, check wiki. her family lived in a tibetan refugee settlement. nepalese culture is a bastardized form of Tibetan and Indian heritage. Choying Dolma is a Tibetan name and her style is Tibetan, and btw she sings in TIbetan and she is a Tibetan Buddhist nun. Nepalese people have sold out her people yet claim her as one of their own. if it wasnt so tragic it would be ironic.

@lttlebighrn her parents were tibetan refugees but she was born in Nepal and for your info Nepal has its own Unique culture and religion and there are bon buddhists in the northern part of Nepal, FYI and she has lots of other beautiful songs in Nepali and please don't hate and start BS about religion

Beautiful. Tibbetts and Anderson, by themselves, are among the greatest musicians in the world. Together, they're pure magic. With the other-worldly voclas of Choying Drolma, the music becomes a spiritual experience. Pure beauty.
