Christians like boast they did away with 'human sacrificing' practiced by pagans. However, when the crops failed or someone fell ill they would haul in the first woman accused of sorcery and burn her at the stake to placate their god. If that isn't human sacrifice, what is? I would argue Christians committed human sacrifice long after pagans abandoned the practice.

I am a devot Christian and I would like you to know that in the new testament, there is nothing which encourages the burning of witches/pagans. Rather it refutes the old laws of the old testament and presents a gospel of love.

Very interesting. And yes the Original Wickerman is a great study of the clash between the Pagan world and the Christian world.
Thought Sargent Howie often is portrayed as close minded and intolerant and fair came to be trapped in this way, I think it isn't so clear.
I admire Sargent Howie - his instincts are not bad, to protect a young girl who is in danger.

You must live in a fairy land. In England they were hung - if you didn't like your neighbours call them Witches! Of course the Wikker Man is fiction but history is real and there is plenty of evidence.

So if your neighbour calls you a witch and you get hung, it's not the church. It's your neighbour. He's the asshole. Now back in the day, the church was the state, so if you got enough assholes together pretty much anything could be done "in the name of God". Stop blaming the church for man's sin. Back then people were damned stupid. Damned stupid assholes. Now we are a little smarter. Oh yeah, but we're still assholes. That will never change.

Yes the church do have alot to do with this but their religion is all manmade and it seems as they dont accept women it is homosexually orientated. The church was created by Man and God. If God is a good person, creating man in his own image he must also be a rapist, murderer, mugger and terrorist!

For someone who stands as a symbol of peace and love you sure do have a lot of hatred for christianity and "their religion". I agree that religion, whether it's your man-made religion or christianity's man-made religion, only further serves to seperate mankind.

Hi. I don't have any hatred for Christianity. Even if someone has a belief of any kind, including watching a soap opera, as long as it keeps them going good luck to them! God didn't create humankind in his own image - humankind created God in their own image. Jesus was persecuted for his claim to be the Son of God. David Ike said he was the second Son of God to plug his book. He was classed as a nutter! Need I say more?

I'm not defending Christianity. I am no advocate of it. I believe that the truth that lies in the pages of the bible are only good for a moral compass and not as a foundation for a religion. It just seemed like you had some ill feelings toward it.

....on that note, it is understandable as I am sure you draw a lot of attention from christian orginiazations. Well, atleast in America you would because people here tend to be very close-minded. I can't speak for Europe. And also, when I said moral compass I was strictly talking about the ten commandments not any other ideologies. Some of the content of the bible is indeed very hate filled and dangerous.
