The bike has been stood in my garage now for the past year, I intend to change the bars to something more flater and higher, I want to fit some forward controlls too for comfort.
I set the valves while engine up to temp. I have a tecnique for doing them while engine running I have done it this way for years and I achieve the best setting this way, forget the book it doesn't take into account how old the engine is, I used to tune my cars the same way, if you set them cold and theyre a little tight when the engine heatrs up the gap is less! so you won't get the best optimum setting, however if your engine is old say more then 30k expect a bit of noise.
what size needle did you use when you retuned it? and do you have the standard airbox still? i'm partway through making a cafe racer and wanna have an open pipe and pod filter..sounds freakin cool!! nice bars too, look damn comfy
I used the standard set up for the carb, make sure you have no leaks on the exhaust especially where the can slips over the header pipe, its important to maintain back pressure so I used some packing but first put a wire mesh inside to stop it all blowing out.
@jeep200000 i see....nuts. i'm gonna be running pretty much straight through pipes into a reverse cone, wanna make sure i've still got good fuelling. guess i'll keep looking for someone who's done it! cheers mate :-)
They're 100cm wide, cost £65. Its not finished yet but ready for MOT next week. then hope to fit grab rail, hard panniers, small screen, maybe a forward set of pegs for the highway, decided to gloss black the engine side cases as everyone has polished ones.
Thanks for your comment.

You should put some clip on bars and make yourself a very nice cafe racer

Have you ever had to adjust the valves because of engine noise after it gets to operating temperature??

Bike looks great but the handlebars look ridiculous! Sort them out and you've got something to be proud of.
