C#m isnt impossible, but it is an interesting thing to play. what makes the song so famous is exactly that. it's extremely unique. it should be played a little slower, however, to get the feel of the music lol
I would never play this at a serious classical concert cause it's kind of butchering beethoveen and half of the notes are gone, but i still learned it just to blow the average persons mind. C#m is impossible on guitar because u need a minor chord with a b7 in the bass only first position can be done, plus there is a B6 in there 1st 19 fret, if u change things u might run out of room to do that riff in the nosebleeds.
This is one of the better covers I've seen on youtube. I told my lady that I'd learn this so thanks for uploading it. I needed something to go by when I do my tabs.
Always loved this piece on piano and have only recently started to practice it on my classical guitar. It's challenging to say the least, but you've done a really nice job of it......well done fella.
@dumyhary it sounds better on piano...but can you play it on either??? honestly wondering. because if you can't you would never understand why we would play it on guitar. :)
yes as a matter of fact I can play it on the piano. but the only reason I see for playing it on the guitar is either to show creativeness (which is good) or because the person liked the piece but couldn't play a piano so he played it with a guitar (an acceptable reason also) ;)
@tsaerakounes personally I like piano better, but every one is subject to their own opinions. you might like guitar better. it's not possible to say which instrument is better technically. but this sonata was originally written for piano anyway so obviously it should sound better with piano.
Nobody can say it sounds better on piano. The two instruments need a kind of performance. Actually the guitar could be more complex than piano as it permit to create more variable sounds. Anyway, remember that although the original one was created on piano, it doesn't mean it makes you feel something better than a guitar does.

I ask myself , let's say some one does not know about bethoven and has never heard this Moonlight music in his life will he enjoy listening to this or any classical performance? I think not then we all failed and we have to focus on music that is made for guitar
Let me tell you the truth, I've never heard anything composed by Beethoven and I never listen to classical music. But when I heard this piece, I absolutely loved it.
i think you got a point, music perception, as well as any other form of art, is conditioned by the chronological order that you get to meet for the first time a musical piece. Thats why serious music teachers wont let you play a certain scale or chord when you havent got to that part.
The time is bad, although yous hand move well. Why everyone wants to play this sonata on that fucking fast time, it doesn't sound good at all. That time sound perfect in piano because of the kind of sound.
haha this sounds sick lol..it sounds nicer on piano but HEY thats just my opinion. other than that this was a very good performance haha post more. ROTTEN YOUTH (anaheim punk)
I see every one do the switch from the Am position to the F position in the beginning and they always switch with their index finger. Use your thumb!!!! it's not hard to hit the first fret of the low E string with it. Good vid though!
Don't focus on pushing hard on the frets, just try to find a spot on the fret were you don't have to put so much pressure, I had the same problem and i can see it in your fingers.^^ But other than that it was very good.!
well done, a few chords wasn't needed to stretch out like that, some notes you needed was right on the lower E string next to your 4th finger but it was good a little more practice you'll get it.
no one plays in C#m on guitar because it's illogical- the guitar isn't structured to play piano pieces. moving into a key like that would be impossible to play.
@upHEREinaRAGE I actually play it in C#m on my guitar.... all you do is move the capo to the fourth fret and play it as he is here. personally i even find it easier. so, not impossible.
@upHEREinaRAGE wrong. put capo on 3rd fret and play it exactly the same way. This can almost be done without a capo only it requires a vast amount of finger stretching, and at some points impossible without a capo.
but yes, illogical to use capo, just switch keys or tune your guitar up or down.
