Its a faulty display/digitizer. If you take to sprint they will be able to replace that part if they have any phones recently returned, if not it should only be around $35 to repair. Factory resets and all that won't help, unfortunately htc just just used a part that is faulty is some cases. Mine started a couple months ago. Hasn't gotten worse and is manageable by quickly turning screen on and off.
my evo 3d is doing the same shit radio shack wont replace it as i lost my debit card and got a new one,then they canceled my warranty , even after the district mgr was informed i was in the allowed time to notify them of the card # change. so i have a phone i can hardly use. fuck radio shack. bitch ass scam artists. REPLACE THE BULLSHIT U SOLD ME!
there products...i dont care about customizing or having 100 home screens i just want a phone that works.i have been trying to get sprint to let me take the iphone 4s not just as a replacement but to even get it for the new or upgrade price and the will not budge what so ever..i cant believe that they will not remedy the problem and be so stubborn and risk losing a customer with 3 lines...looks like verizon maybe my new home if sprint doesnt get there act together.
i also have a evo 3d and im on my 2nd replacement since june when i bought it on launch day...i am to having issues with the phone acting like its haunted and doing randome things on its own...also it system crashes...as soon as it either system crashes or the camera crashes it snowballs..sprint wants to offer another android and as far as i can see from being a android user for 3years android needs more research and development and phone manufacturers need to start putting more quality into

I've reset it and taken battery out and everything but still does it randomly. Had it less than a month. I took it back into the shop and of course worked fine. They sent it away but said that HTC will prob do a system reset and then send the phone back. In the mean time im paying $80 a month for a phone that I dont even have...
i just got my shit yesterday and it was going fine also got mine at radio shack and the fucker keep's shuting off and on i dont wtf is going im gonna complain this shit with sprint

I got my EVO 3d on June 24, the phone release date and I have not had any of these problems. I did receive an update as soon as I booted my phone for the first time so maybe it was fixed before the issue was a problem. I suggest that you call htc directly and maybe they can send you an update to fix the problem. Good luck to you.

Make sure the screen is clean. Some dust particles can cause this problem.

HTC sent out an update to fix that I got mine from Sprint a month ago and I haven't had one ploblem with my evo
