  • 025:-027 I think i know the indian that walks by

  • Living near Ticonderoga, we refer to the Grand Encampment as - "Thunder in the Mountains". You can hear it all the way across the Lake each year, and it's really cool.

  • Just checking around. We're a young group, still trying to find our feet in the reenacting world, so it's great to be able to see and study other groups portraying the same thing.

  • here come the kilty lads... my unit

  • Which kilty lads? There were a number of highland regiments there.

  • the 78th... we are on the left flank.

  • Montreal squad? I'm from the Ottawa one. That was a great weekend.

  • That reminds me, you guys put on a great show with the sword dance. Well done!

  • actually we're the american group. we just do reenacting. we may look rag-tag but its correct.

  • Ah, sorry about that. I know you guys were correct. I'm not sure why our group decides to be so "uniform" and "official" when the actual regiment wasn't. By the way, which musket drill do you use? Are there historical reasons for not using the Highland Military Discipline of '57? I can imagine that, as the regiment was raised in January 1757, the book might not have been in effect yet.

  • i believe we use napiers drill. we tweaked it a little to suit our needs. i don't think the book was in efect for us but theres no reason that it wasn't used for other units.

  • too bad the 78th wasnt at that battle
