  • we're the sweeney son and we havent had any dinner yet!! classic

  • There's only 1 Antony Sweeney! And he plays for Hartlepool United:)

  • Real TV, from days when TV was worth its licence fee. It's all turned to shite nowadays. Bring back Regan and Carter. "Get your trousers on...you're nicked". Solid gold programming this was.

  • We're the Sweeney son & we haven't had any breakfast, they dont make tv shows like this anymore, CLASSIC

  • SHUT IT!! >:(

  • @TheDrummerNut. Right... You're nicked!

  • great tune - but I really love the closing track even more

  • What happened to George at 2:01? He looks like he had a nervous breakdown...

  • O M G ringtone heaven .....I would just let the phone ring

    ha ha ha.

  • Slick Tune !

  • we need another regan

any idea if there was a soundtrack album to the film sweeney 2?

  • Cant find the theme music to Sweeney 2 on here anywhere. Think it was written by Tony Hatch? Certainly merits inclusion if anyone is able please.

  • yup mate def want that music, part of the reason why Sweeney 2 was so good

  • Timely infact as Sweeney 2 has just had its 2nd airing on ITV4 this afternoon.

The music impresses more each time I hear it! Hopefully someone may be able to oblige with it.

  • if they show it in the afternoon then that must mean half the great one-liners and violence will be taken out being laden with swearing etc, now they'll have to show the after 9pm unsqueamish uncut version too lol

  • i would certianly tell him where the photos are!! haha

  • any one know the name of the end theme, i read it was not released ,i see some slag took it off here ,the long version why ? cheers my son

  • don't know why my full version was removed... that upsets me a bit actually. i will try and find my original and re-post it.

    Thanks for letting me know.

  • Back up again now.... lost all of my comments though.

  • Yore goin darn

  • @happpeee The Sweeney Closing Theme

  • i remember it sounding a bit better than that. . .

  • I was too young to see the show when it first came out, but the theme tune just got me. Its one of the all-time classics in television theme tune history. Top drawer for the creators, who made the theme tune BTW?

  • The dvd box set is worth a buy...

Harry South wrote the theme tune.

thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • I`ve got 18 commendations,if you include the 1 I didn`t get yesterday, and how does this wonderful police force show its gratitude for all my years of unstinting effort? It bangs me up in a crummy little cell like some cheap little villain; all because of a toe-nail called Hutchinson who`s got a few bottles twitchin` on the fifth floor. I`m going to have to be reinstated, and what do you double-died hypocrites want now?..crawl back to work and be terrible grateful I didn`t get nicked! Stuff it!

  • great theme tune

  • what can i say except that this is the business!

  • Great tune! Anyone else think that Lee Brilleaux from Dr. Feelgood should've played Regan's little brother at some point..?

  • i love the jazzy tune

  • Thanks again. I had never heard the full versions of the opening and closing credits so thanks a million. The Sweeney and The Professionals were both such excellent British cop shows.

  • i think what i liked about them was that they didn't always win, sometimes the villans did get away with it.

  • how good is the bit at the end!

  • Love it!! Great vid, really love the ending. Never heard the full version before.

  • Thanks for your nice comment... it's really appreciated. :-)

  • i love the sweeney
