  • I would recommend using your backhand more, You have a very controlled and fairly powerful forehand, Maybe just exercise your backhand, also more your feet a bit more. Using "machine gun steps" and just follow through completely. Hope I can help

  • when hiitiing forehand, you should hold your left arm longer.

  • Lol. the 2 comments prior to mine on this video are the most useless tips. @vohshkab obviously knows nothing about the sport. As for Standing near the baseline... REALLY? You do realize the balls lose a lot of speed and power when they hit the wall so it doesn't make any sense for you to be standing that far back, the balls will never get back to you unless they're brand new and you're literally ripping every shot.

  • I have a tip get the person holding the camera to hit with you - you look dreadful maybe you need to hit the gym - you have no form - you are just smacking the ball against the wall - really ugly and painful to watch

  • stand near the baseline , so in the real game , you know how much power you wil need to use to hit other player's baseline

  • Is this video taken at N*S? I went there on Sunday.

  • @seetchong yes :) NUS

  • very nice. i recommend cross court shots. itl improve your overall game, help with movement and endurance. the goal is to hit left then to right, displacing urself and trying to keep it up as long as possible

  • Move your feet more and take small steps. Remember, on a low ball you'll want to bend your knees more to get off a good shot.

  • I love that wall, I wanna make one like that

  • nice practice down the line the racket has alot of control

  • You need to improve your footwork. i recommend you to watch some videos like- MODERN TENNIS FOOTWORK on youtube and - fyzzy yellow balls- FYB2007

  • best wall ive ever seen

  • where was this video shot???

  • Tape a penny on the wall and try to hit every time for three hours straight. When you can do this for a month I'll give you another tip.

  • try and keep plastic bags away from the court.

  • be more agressive with ur body.

ur stroke is good but u just need to pu tmore into it. watch pros in matches from like side view or somethin, they move so fast and use there body so much

  • @ the end: hachuchipuchachichao

  • @polipoli7 hahaha

  • I would recommend you to go near the wall after you hit a good stroke. This will help you on your volleys.

  • Well, I would call your forehand a nice club level stroke. I suppose the best way to help yourself is to watch FYB clips, especially their free email course. Don't think of it as an ad, 'cause the course is really helpful. Have you already subscribed?

  • I think the biggest tip here is to move your feet more, so that you dictate where you are hitting the ball from instead of the ball dictating it for you. Then you will be able to hit from your preferred hitting zone.

Because you are not moving your feet enough you are often leaning for the shot too much and the shots end up being awkward.

    Good luck buddy! :)

  • Thank you for the great tip, I was watching Melanie Oudin's video clip... her feet was moving very aggressively like you described. It'll be a hard habit for me to change - I'll give it a try. And you're right.. I find myself leaning when I hit... Thanks!

  • Not bad. In general, I would say that 70% of your strokes in this video look good. You're getting nice topspin using the "windshield-wiper" technique, which is good. Once in a while, though you are not catching the outside edge of the ball, and this is making the ball go to the right, like at 0:28. This may also be due to the fact that you don't always turn your shoulders enough, especially when using an open stance. Of course, this is a common mistake that most players all the time. Good job!

  • Thanks for the tip... and you're right! I had to focus every shot to prevent the ball from drifting to the right. Though it helps when I'm in a match and it goes to opponent back hand naturally so I never corrected the flaw. I will take your advice and catch the outside edge of ball to correct this mistake. Thanks :)

  • I know what you mean. One of my many faults is that I tend to be late on my forehand shot, which means it will go to the opponent's backhand (if he is a righty). Of course, this usually works out well since that will be the opponent's weaker side. But I would rather do it intentionally. By the way, Agassi's video (1990 or so) has a short section of him practicing on the wall. He is so SMOOTH! Try to watch it if you can find it. I don't think it is on YouTube, though.

  • Hey, I found it on YouTube! Search "Agassi - Attack with Nick Bollettieri 1/6" and go to the 3:00 mark. It's worth watching!

  • Thanks for the link... very nice of you! WOw Agassi hits a mean forehand and very fast too.

  • id love to have a wall like this close to my house, btw is there a real net or is it just paint on the wall?

  • HI there, the net is painted on the wall...

  • god do we have things like this in los angeles :/ thats freaking awsome ,all i get are handball courts , wtf

  • It looks like you hit your forehand and spray the ball to the right a bit. I would try to maybe close your racquet face more and hit the ball more cross court on some of your forehands. this will help you when you have to bring the ball back into the court when your hitting or mix up your shots when playing.

  • i would say go back to ready position once you hit, i see that you're back is still twisted/turned for the next shot.

use your feet more, i think once you have gotten used to going back to ready after a hit your feet will be moving more.

  • wow.. nice suggestion... that's something that I never thought of.. thanks ^^ !

  • he cant hes playing against the wall, so he knows where the ball gonna land.

  • extend your follow through on your backhand, and try to get a little bit more spin on your backhand too. your elbow is too bent on the follow through, so your not getting much spin. if you watch someone like federer, he generates spin on the backhand and continues his follow through and keeps his elbow relatively straight...try doing more of that

  • Thanks for the tips - I'm having backhand problems of late...

  • Bend those knees for groundstrokes!

  • u should stay at least 2-3 feet behind the baseline when playing a real opponent.

  • close your stance a bit for your forehand
