The Palm Pre is the WORST phone I have ever had! Worse battery life ever! Slow as shit, and defective as hell. I had mine replaced 8 times because the damn screen would crack while on the Touch Stone charger! This phone could have been better but it was rushed too fast to compete with the iFail. I liked my Samsung Instinct and I regret ever buying the Palm Pre.

Sounds like you may be quite unlucky. Personal experience with my palm pre has been good. I just got off a phone call that lasted almost 2 hours. My phone was not fully charged but was close and yet I still have 50% battery left. As far as standby time I have not tested that but do know I can go close to 10 to 11 hours of normal use (games/internet/some gps use/phone calls/email) and still have juice left. Sorry to hear about your misfortunes

I thought it could be a bad battery also, but I have TWO batteries and they BOTH give me the same results. I literally can't go 4 hours without running out of power. Like I said, this is my SECOND phone and the battery issue was prevalent in both cases.

Anyway you can get about 3-5hrs of talk time on the pre. usually when your battery dies that fast its because you have an application running in the background and don't know it. That would happen when i use email or pandora on my pre. I'll pause or stop using it but the app will still be killing my battery. if you notice that the back of your phone or your battery is warm/hot then that means something is..

to help i mean for instance i took it off the charger yesterday at 4pm used pandora for 3 hours to work out with surfed the web youtube video calls etc went to sleep woke up still had 55% left when i woke up at noon

yes the battery life is a issue and i have found a solution people i also posted it on precentrals forum just invest in the mugen 1400 mhz battery it 'll run you 35 dollars once you get it follow the instructions on charging it get it charge it for a full 10 hours then drain it until it prompts you to charge then do so again for 10 hours again do this 3 times then use it and charge when u like i get 2 and a half days standby and regular use 1 and a half days on it also use smartflex patch 500

Sounds like a bad Pre and/or battery. I only have to charge mine for about 1 hour every day to stay above 50% battery life. I have had mine for over 3 months now and if I do alot of web surfing and talking on the phone during a normal work day, I will usually have over 50% battery life. I have tested YouTube videos and got around 3 hours of constant playing before the battery drains below 10%. I would check with other Pre owners in your area to see what they are getting. Might be a signal issue.

Dont get me wrong. I think this is a kick ass phone when and if it works correctly. The problem is I can't get it to work n a reliable fashion. In a life or death situation, I would NEVER rely on this phone. I would use a $50 phone before the Palm Pre.

Funny enuff, I shelled out over $500 between the phone and the accessories i bought with it. If it worked as promised. i would think its the next best thing after the iPhone. It worked great at first...but then gradually things went south.

sim590 and greengiant, This is my SECOND Palm Pre...the first was far worse because in addition to the battery not lasting...the operating system was rife with bugs and glitches that would drop calls or deny me access to my information. Sometimes the phone wouldn't stop ringing or I couldn't disconnect calls. I took it back 2 Sprint and they replaced it with this one. Have I received TWO bad phones in a row? BTW..i have TWO batteries also...neither one last more than 4 hours.

what are you talking about.. Your Palm pre is definitly broken.. It doesn't do that with a properly working device.. Theres an issue with it because I have a Plam pre too.. and battery can live all day long if I don't use it.. It can last from 8am to 9pm and the battery would be at 50%... You need to check this out with Sprint. as greengiant told you..

Wow I'M shocked after watching the video. I would check battery to see if it is holding a charge. If you have insurance take it to sprint store maybe they can do something with it. Also what version are you on os 1.2 or 1.3?
