p.s. a tremendous amount of gratitude and reverence goes out to the artists that were inspired to create a new sound from the inside of their chest, that in turn inspired the love inside of mine.
i love being able to see where this all started, its a trip that i just heard the song 'your love' (remixed version) for the first time today in the club scene in the movie L4YERCAKE, i did not know this song would remanifest itself to my ears in this documentary. im blown away lol. im so blessed to be part of the electronic music scene
DJ Frankie Knuckles had a musical partnership with Jamie Principle, and helped put 'Your Love' and 'Baby Wants to Ride' out on vinyl ... The term 'House Music' surfaced in reference to the sounds played at the Warehouse in Chicago by DJ Frankie Knuckles. "House" became the word used to define the raw, drum machine based edits and tracks that Frankie was playing in the early 80s.
DJ Knuckles' protege and future Def Mix associate is Satoshi Tomiie.
@NapsterPIMP4U But note: the Chicago crowd had more of an influence on the DJ (Knuckles), than vice-versa ..Had it not been for Chicago having more appreciation (than NY) for the Euro synth sound, and wanting something faster, Knuckles may not have even went in that direction ...and there are those who will argue that Chip E.'s "It's House" was before "On & On"...
Hey check out Merwyn Sanders and Eric Lewis aka Ace & the Sandman, Virgo 4, M.E., tracks. Also unreleased tracks will be made available soon! Also check out "Elevator House Music" by Merwyn Sanders on "Twilight Trax" or itunes. Keep in touch at Facebook-Merwyn Sanders.
WHAT'S HOUSE? You think you may know, but Doctor Moonrocks sees things differently. Wanna see how? Go online to traxsource and search DOCTOR MOONROCKS for a piece of heaven. Your soul will thank you
Jamie was like Jesus, not the 1st star of house but the 1st Prophet of House. Ron Hardy was God. Jamie was a leader, a pioneer. Much respect. It's sucks that Frankie gets so much credit for Jamie's Music. Frakie would'nt have been shit without Jamie.
What I liked about the 'Your Love ' song was that it was written from the heart and that made it real...that's why it was such a masterful song back then and now.

With much respect to Jaimie and Saunders. To me Chip E's "Time to jack" made my head explode. What was that groovy and tech house music sound?
All I wanted, was more and more , more yesssss,.............

In my humble opinion "your love" marks the complete birth of global house music. Everything else is background.
