lol@ his explanation, too. "i planned on calling the turn and river" - yeah for what reason exactly? and than he thought doyle overbet the river which wasnt even the case. guy needs to see the numbers online to bet able to tell what the pot is... doyle couldve easily semibluffed the turn with a like the 4 5.
@Philboy50 i think you're being a little harsh on lex. he meant 'overbet' in terms of the size of the pot, betting 60k into a 64k pot is pretty much an overbet, cos a straight won't bet that big because it wont get called by much less. and plus, you said doyle could've "semibluffed" the turn with a "45"? a 45 is the absolute nuts on the turn! none of us are pro's here and i'm not trying to offend you, but his call was pretty darn good, cos the way doyle played it, his story didnt make sense.
@ATfilms21 sorry, i meant 56, not 45 obviously. doyle could even be bluffin with a random pair, never is this a +EV call when you only get 2:1. well, im glad he gets the bad results that he deserves online. srsly what does this guy live off?
@Philboy50 haha well i went to this website Poker Static and they interviewed lex after his appearance on hsp and he dissected the hand pretty well, so im on his side on this one. to each his own i suppose? :p
the 60k call by lex wasnt impressiv, it was plain stupid. this guy is barely a break even player in the mid-stakes online, what is he even doing there? dont know where he gets the money to play these stakes, but he surly hasnt won it playing poker.
I think Lex called because Doyle seldom bets 20k on the flop/turn when he really has a hand. Doyle usually bets like 7,9k. Seems to me that Lex got a little suspicious because of that.
Standard call by lex imo. Doyle's river bet is super polarised. When he bets the turn after lex doesnt cbet flop, his range is super wide, but generally doesnt have a pair other than a J-X type hand, as doyle percieves smaller pairs as having showdown value, but def no premium value. He might have a few gutshots, but when he bets near pot on straightening river, he rarely has a straight, and is obviously never betting a pair. Lex's call is kinda standard, but for that amount of money, quite sick
I completely agree with the Elky comment, that's an insta-call, and he didn't berate him...he was a little miffed because when Elky was thinking, he had assumed he won the pot. The call with 9-high was fucking amazing...it could have been good
Dwan is developing superstar complex. Berating Elky for thinking 15 seconds about making a 56,000 call against him, saying "you must be playing a different game than I am".
Calling 28,000 with 9-high when it couldn't possibly be good.
Lack of respect for people and money... Dwan is starting to show clear signs of douchery.
@Milkou991 It's not about the quality of his play, but his arrogant demeanor. Dwan's a great player, but do you really think he would have made this kind of call during season 5 of HSP?
@VicenzoV Absolutely. It's his style to have range of 5%-> of hands. Meaning, that he can play the worst hands also, to be one of the most dangerous players in the world.
His play is just phenomenal. I can't detect any presuming behavior from durrr. That's the way he plays. He's absolutely in top-5 internet players.
@VicenzoV But see, this is one thing that Dwan has said, EVER. No player has ever complained about Dwan. The same can't be said for people like, say, Hellmuth or Matusow. Dwan threw away some money on a 9 high, but looking at the board, it's actually a great play considering the read he had, he just had the wrong read. Daniel called the flop bet because of his read on Dwan, and this affected Dwan's read (In contrast to your belief that he has no respect for money.)
You really can have fun and get great savings on all sorts of purchases including smartphones when you know where to go. Take a look at this video - it shows you how to do it.
Well, he obviously thought Daniel was bluffing. And if he's bluffing he can't really have 9 high beat. He wouldn't have check-called the flop with J high or T high. And A high or a small pair might be the best hand so there's no need to bluff. Therefore Durrrr most likely put him on 65, 54 or 64.
