I've played both, and while the UD-stomp is definitely a very worthy delay pedal, I would definitely not give the Timeine up for it. The Timeline has a weight to the delayed notes while still retaining smoothness, that I've not heard in any other delay pedal; Timefactor, Nova delay, Replica, Boss, Line 6, EH, all considered. But that's just my humble opinion. Cheers! :-)
With the Timeline, you'll be able to record infinite tracks just like this, up to 20 seconds on the base loop. But to get all the exact sounds, you'll have to put pedals before the Timeline so that it can record their sounds as well. :-) Hope that helps! Cheers and thanks for watching!
sorry for too many questions dude .... but at 2:33 there is the 1st riff , chords and lead looping, while u are adjustin levels on the memory lane ..... and at 2:47 sounds like there are 4 tracks loopin !!!! and at 3:23 it sounds like there are some 5 guitarists playin ! .... is it just the timeline or something else too ??... sorry for buggin you once again , but i'm trippin over this video of yours .... its AMMMAAAAZZZZZIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG ! ...
No worries! All the recording is just the Timeline. For different tracks, I do have other pedals running into the Timeline for it to record. I don't remember exactly, but it sounds like some of the tracks are using the Memory Lane delay, Tim overdrive, and a phaser. (I don't remember which phaser I had at the time. :-) )
All the Timeline. :-) I'm doing very little. hehe And if you really like loops, the Boss RC50 or Boomerang sampler can do a ton of this stuff. Cheers!
dude , your music is completely mind blowin man ..... you're amazing ! ... i was just wondering how you got the chords to loop while playin lead on 1:28.... ?? ... how does the 2 track looper work ??
The looper on the Timeline is a 20 second infinite looper with one base loop. So, on the looper setting, you click the left switch to record your base loop...up to 20 seconds. Hit the switch again to stop recording and start the track looping. The right switch records infinitely over the original loop. So you can either hit the right one on/off as you record harmonizing parts, which I do towards the middle of the video, or you can just hit it on let it record infinitely, like I do at the end.
thank you for this terrific demo! I am going to get one of these. A quick question: while looping, can u bring the delay and mod from the pedal into loop recording?
They're totally different pedals, in my humble opinion. The Timeline, being a digital delay, will never be able to get the warm, spacious, modulated echoes the Memory Lane can get. But the Memory Lane, being an analog delay, will never be able to get the crisp, long delays of the Timeline, and it will never be close to being as versatile.
So I use the Timeline as my main delay, and the Memory Lane as ambiance, and quarter note stuff for solos or when I just need something more. :-)
Awesome. This isn't a demo; it's just plain great music. I could listen to you do this stuff all day. Have you put together any recordings of this kind of stuff?
Well, thank you for the kind words; that's very flattering. Honestly, I was just trying to learn the looping function on this pedal, and started messing around.
Maybe someday I'll get some recordings going. Thanks again for the encouragement!
I agree very much with this guy. I love your chord choices and the voicing you choose through-out your demo's. I guess it's the 'church music' stuff, right? All sounds very heavenly. I personally am no Christian or what-so-ever [see me as a Buddhist] and we don't have any church players over here in the Netherlands. But I can imagine why people with like it, it's very uplifting and hopeful!
hehe Gotcha. Thanks for the kind words. And ya....the mood of the voicings kind of reflects whatever my current mood is at the time. I guess I was happy on this day. haha There's some darker stuff that comes out sometimes, too. But you're right, when playing in church, I do try to keep a bit of 'hope' in what I play. Cheers, bro!! :-)
well there you go, two of my fave guitarists passenger and demo, writing together. would i love to hear you two jamming together. this internet is wonderful,i would not have heard either of you, or the damage control pedals, without it, Respect to you both.
Hey passenger, thanks for the demos of the timeline and the nexus. Really like em. I've ordered a Timeline, cant wait to get my hands on it :-)

@Passenger95 You had a Subdecay Quasar, I can clearly see it. :) I have one of my own, I really enjoy it. Nice demo and playing, dude!

No problem! And no, unfortunately, you can't use any of the pedal's other delay settings while using the looping feature. Wish you could, though.

how do you like the timeline compared to the memory lane?

Thanks so much for the feedback and for posting these amazing videos. You alone might be responsible for the national shortage of these pedals...
