this is by far my favourite video of all the celebrations!! i can't stop watching it....it's so funny. I love how everyone runs into the street at the same time....dance and jump, and then run back before the light changes. That's awesome. I wish I could have been in Toronto or Vancouver for these celebrations.
This is so funny, because on a normal day, Canadians are SO law abiding with traffic lights. In so many countries, green light/red light makes no difference - you just TEAR across the road when it looks open and pray you don't get run over! Hilarious to see....and best of all, no bad stuff happened according to the news this morning......
.......there must have been very powerful beer at the Y & E bars, cause the patrons, once out on the street were VERY NAUGHTY - blocking the intersection for ages....no buses, cars, could get through and there's no scramble there. Took about 20 minutes just to get through - but no one was hurt.

If you look at the stop lights, we actually DID wait for the scramble light indication (cross all directions). Great fun all around.
